Job Overview
Toast is in search of an enthusiastic, driven, and proven individual to join the Real Estate Team. The Real Estate Team serves as the driver behind building exceptional offices, globally, that provide environments focused on productivity and workplace experience. In this role, the individual will have a diverse set of responsibilities. The candidate will be required to lead construction and renovation efforts from initiation to project closeout on multiple projects, while providing exceptional communication. Our ideal candidate has a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines and can efficiently own multiple projects at a time—both independently and collaboratively.
*This person can sit either outside of Boston, MA, Dallas, TX, Omaha, NE, Nashville, TN, Reno, NV, or San Francisco, CA. Must be willing to travel up to 10%.
About this roll* (Responsibilities)
- Manage multiple real estate construction projects for Toast including new locations, expansions, consolidations and decommissioning of space.
- Build and manage the RE project’s budget, timeline, and milestones while providing internal reports and updates to real estate management.
- Support the development of Future of Work strategies and design elements.
- Lead a team of professionals, which include MEP Engineers,General Contractors, Architects, and Interior Designers to complete projects.
- Continue to enhance and evolve. Build our Workplace Standards and Design Playbook that can be used in all Real Estate Projects globally to assure consistency, gather lessons learned and incorporate best in class design and workplace strategy elements.
- Develop and document processes and procedures related to workplace design and how it integrated with the overall project delivery schedule. Guide the workplace design process from start to finish
- Act as the Toast SPOC for workplace design in the project delivery process and provide guidance during programming, design development, finish selection, furniture selection, and construction management with an emphasis on quality control, consistency and adherence to budget and schedule parameters
- Interface with various Toast stakeholders including Occupancy Planning, Workplace Experience, IT, Security, Brand. EE and business partners to integrate project requirements into the scope, set expectations and gain alignment.
- Hold project review meetings to assure proper alignment across all components of the project scope.
- Participate in design and project planning sessions to familiarize with the project requirements.
- Consult and evaluate scope, schedule and budget impacts of the pre-construction and design development phases.
- Assist with development and administration of maintenance and capital budgets, tracking project expenses, maintaining complete records associated with each project, including change order logs.
- Track and approve all invoices and manage budgets on all jobs assigned as well as annual capital improvement budget

- Bachelor’s degree in: Construction Management, Architecture, Design or related field.
- Minimum 5 years combined experience.
- Must have extensive knowledge of real estate construction projects and project phasing and the design development process.
