Job Summary

TripAdvisor’s Social Impact team is looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and self-motived Specialist to support the execution and scale of meaningful programs that inspire, engage and reward our employees for making an intentional difference and impact in our local and global communities.

Based in TripAdvisor’s Needham, MA headquarters, but working with teams around the world, this role will report to our Director of Social Impact and work closely with our Global Programs Senior Specialist to manage and implement existing activities and initiatives as well as inform the next phase and evolution of our global employee giving and volunteering program, TripGives, established in 2017. The program reaches close to 4,000 employees in approximately 40 TripAdvisor office locations across the world.

Job Responsibilities

TripGives Events Management & Logistics

  • Drive planning, operations, logistics, communications and evaluation for our annual global month of service in June, TripGives Month, and year-round TripGives programming.
  • Manage all aspects of our global TripGives Month Ambassador Program (network of approx. 200 employee champions leading projects), including recruitment and application process, program curriculum review and development, ongoing communications, material development, meeting preparation, and more.
  • Identify, plan and execute local TripGives year-round activities and events in Greater Boston, including collaborative events between TripGives and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), select business teams and more. Provide guidance to global offices, teams and ERGs for local related events and activities.
  • Coordinate the execution of partnerships in the Greater Boston area. Provide support for execution of partnerships in other office locations.
  • Review and revise annual TripGives program guidelines and materials
  • Develop and maintain annual calendar of volunteer events globally.
  • Support development of new TripGives programs and activities, both locally and globally

TripGives Platform Administration

  • Own operations, maintenance, content, communications and implementation of our internal TripGives Portal, powered by Benevity.
  • Coordinate with Benevity Relationship Manager to provide technical support to employees and nonprofit partners, troubleshoot issues, identify and implement system enhancement, and ensure tool is user-friendly to employees.
  • Both create original and review employee giving and volunteer opportunity submissions; Review employee gift matching requests.
  • Respond daily to employee email and Slack inquiries regarding TripGives programs.
  • Pull ongoing data reports from platform and/or request from Benevity Relationship manager; analyze and pull insights to inform programs and activities, as necessary.

Communications

  • Inform development of and execute annual TripGives internal communications strategy.
  • Create and execute ongoing program and events communications through multiple channels including Outlook, MailChimp, Slack, intranet, physical materials and more.
  • Support Corporate Communication team with messaging for Social Impact elements of corporate events and activities (e.g. Company meetings).
  • Other story development and content creation for Social Impact, as needed.

Community Engagement

  • Manage Social Impact community events onsite at HQ in partnership with internal teams and external organizations, as necessary

Other

  • Work with internal partners as it relates to Social Impact programs (i.e. Communications and Public Relations, Legal, People Operations, etc.)
  • Schedule meetings with internal and external stakeholders for team.
  • Support oversight of student co-ops and interns throughout entire calendar year.
  • Analyze and present trends in the area of Social Impact, stay abreast of best practices, and benchmark leading companies and programs
  • May represent the Social Impact team at internal and external events, as necessary.
  • Some travel may be necessary to conferences and/or other TripAdvisor offices

Key Skills/Experience

  • 1-3 years working in the social impact and/or employee experience space
  • Specific experience in one of more of the critical areas: volunteer management, social impact ambassador/champion programs, employee giving and volunteering programs and platforms (e.g. Benevity, Causecast, CyberGrants, etc), events and partnerships.
  • Global perspective and ability to identify and respond to regional differences and needs
  • Extraordinary attention to detail and organization with a high level of initiative and drive
  • Extremely strong communication (written and verbal), public speaking and presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with variety of business teams, employees and leaders across the organization
  • Strong project management and event execution skills
  • Strong proficiency with Internet-based applications and Microsoft office, especially Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel, and with internet research
  • Experience with CRM systems such as MailChimp (preferred) and/or Constant Contact
  • Interpersonal skills with ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Quick learner, organized, self-motivated, ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information
  • Awareness and interest in multiple social issues, such as education, human rights, health, poverty, environmental sustainability, and more
  • Experience gathering, researching and analyzing data is encouraged
