MassMutual’s Enterprise Information Security Services organization is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for all facets of project/program management related to the delivery of technical, infrastructure solutions and managing projects from a security and risk perspective. Responsible for all projects in the Identity and Access Management and cloud teams overseeing other Project Managers responsible for those tracks. Perform financial management and presenting programs and financials to senior leadership.

Role Characteristics

  • Manage development and implementation activities across multiple projects using both Waterfall and Agile principles and methodologies.
  • Accountable to business sponsor(s) and management to drive delivery of quality solutions tied to clearly understood business problem(s) and benefit(s)
  • Deliver project/program/portfolio objectives on-time, with quality, within scope and budget
  • Develop, manage, monitor and report on all project/program tasks, activities, expectations, controls and deliverables; and/or provide management and oversight for EIRM IT portfolio
  • Understand, apply, promote and contribute to Agile delivery methodologies, standards and tools
  • Support Project Managers across programs and lead work cell efforts in line with program
  • Support Product Owner through:
    • Helping to deliver product vision
    • Roadmap development
    • Helping order product backlog items
    • Sprint/Release Planning and Management
  • Support project team through:
    • Removing impediments and preventing project progress
    • Mediating through conflicts
    • Helping to facilitate quick decision making
    • Help prioritize workload and determine trade-offs of scope/budget/calendar

Overall Responsibilities

  • Schedule and lead project team meetings to maintain adherence to project timelines and requirements.
  • Facilitate key meetings such as sprint/release planning, retrospectives, release go/no go, etc.
  • Work with individual vendor partners and MassMutual business, IT and EIRM partners to ensure timelines are realistic and requirements are understood.
  • Identify key risks and issues, and develop mitigation plan. Effectively resolve issues under aggressive timelines.
  • Meet with Senior leadership teams to report risks, issues and get decisions on program
  • Understanding who to bring together to rapidly resolve issues.
  • Identify key stakeholders and management strategy for each (i.e. communication, influencing, decision making)
  • Help team define key project metrics and develop tools to track and report metrics.
  • Help to further mature Agile and adapt it throughout the organization
  • Assess project health, identify key problem areas, and focus resources to turn troubled projects around.
  • Demonstrate proven capability to be disciplined and flexible at the same time
  • Provide input into and/or influence business strategies and direction that determine and shape projects
  • Supply accurate project estimates and tightly manage project budget, approved funding, forecasts and actuals
  • Secure and maintain project resources and actively manage resource plan; direct other project managers
  • Remain focused on big picture and prioritize competing responsibilities.
  • Provide expertise and advice on maximizing productivity, right-sizing requirements documentation, phased rollouts, etc.
  • Provide solutions and continuous improvement opportunities to efficiently solve problems and provide critical thinking skills
  • Gain recognition as a trusted advisor / leader with customers and stakeholders at all levels of the organization across business, IT and EIRM
  • Listen and effectively communicate with clarity, precision and transparency
  • Naturally lead and command authority; influence and inspire across a matrixed organization (i.e. without control or positional authority)
  • Hold self and project team accountable for outcome
  • Remove barriers to enable project team to complete objectives no matter how difficult; drive and influence decisions
  • Proactively coach and mentor team members within your organization and across the enterprise
  • Effectively negotiate priorities and solutions with sponsors and stakeholders
  • Drive lessons learned and knowledge retention for future

Basic Qualifications

  • 5 years of project management experience
  • 2 years Agile project delivery experience
  • Proven delivery of Waterfall and Agile projects/programs, including Scrum and/or Kanban
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Significant technical background
  • Experience with managing vendor delivery and relationships
  • Experience relating project deliverables to business capabilities
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity, capable of establishing and growing functions and teams from the ground up
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, managing, monitoring and appropriate reporting on programs, projects and/or project tasks, controls and holistic project financials including but not limited to trends / variances / themes, continually monitor projects/programs against business case/CBA to ensure benefit realization
  • An action-oriented, driven, entrepreneurial mindset
  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree and/or PMP Certification
  • Scrum Master Certification
  • Experience with JIRA tool
