The Project Supply Chain Director provides interim, on-site leadership to hospital supply chain operations, supporting alignment with organizational standards, best practices, and strategic initiatives. This role ensures operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance across all aspects of the supply chain cycle, including procurement, logistics, and inventory management. Essential Functions
- Leads hospital supply chain operations, ensuring compliance with CHS policies, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
- Implements and supports CHS strategic initiatives, including sustainability, cost management, and supply chain performance improvements.
- Oversees procurement, forecasting, inventory management, and distribution processes to ensure operational efficiency and adequate supply levels.
- Chairs or actively participates in the Supply Expense Committee, reviewing expense reports, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
- Leads New Product Reviews (NPRs), assessing feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and clinical alignment of proposed supply additions.
- Provides guidance and support to the supply chain team, including coaching, setting performance goals, and promoting continuous improvement.
- Collaborates with key business functions, including SBO Procurement, logistics, and facility leadership to drive integrated supply chain practices.
- Identifies and mitigates supply chain risks and ensures compliance with legal, regulatory, and environmental requirements.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and senior leadership.
- Provides timely updates and reporting on project progress, supply chain metrics, and challenges to hospital and corporate leadership.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required
- Master's Degree preferred
- 7-9 years of progressive experience in supply chain operations required
- 5-7 years in a leadership role within supply chain management, preferably in a project-based capacity required
- 5-7 years of experience using a supply chain ERP system required
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire diverse teams.
- Deep understanding of supply chain principles, procurement practices, and logistics management.
- Experience using Oracle’s supply chain management and ERP systems.
- Experience with cost reduction programs and implementing strategies for operational efficiency.
- Proficient in supply chain management systems and analytics tools.
- Expertise in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
- Ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives aligned with organizational objectives.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Experience with HealthTrust contracts, pricing agreements, and compliance standards is a plus.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities across all levels of the organization.
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) preferred or
- Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)-APICS preferred
- Lean Six Sigma Certification-IASSC preferred
