As a Project Accountant at DN you will manage the the day-to-day accounting of construction projects. Working collaboratively with our Operations team, you will own all accounting functions as it pertains to our construction projects. A successful individual in this role will be someone who develops strong relationships, both internally and externally, completes work thoroughly and timely, and upholds budgetary financials.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, post and track the monthly requisitions to the owner
- Participate in project forecast updates – CTC/WIP – with Project Managers/Project Engineers
- Monitor/track any over/under billings and work with Project Manager and/or Project Engineer
- Monitor for any potential high-risk projects and work with project management for plan/resolution
- Identify potential job exposures and write-offs
- Procure to Pay – be responsible for processing subcontractor requisitions
- Ensure the subcontractor is complying with terms and conditions of the contract (i.e. insurance, lien releases, waivers, billing procedures, CPR, etc.),
- Monitor and track the cash position of the projects
- Reconciliation with Project Managers/Project Engineers for project closeout
- Responsible for the understanding of owner contracts and subcontracts regarding payment terms and required documents
- Work closely with the Project Managers, Project Engineers and Superintendents on all facets of project accounting and administration.
- Manage cash collection for the project in conjunction with the Project Manager as well as prepare Cash Forecasts.
- Participate in owner, subcontractor and project meetings as required
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 4+ years relevant experience in Accounting or Finance related position
- Relationship driven
- Excellent communication skills
- Detail-oriented
- Experience with Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Viewpoint Spectrum or Construction ERP systems
