The Program Manager role in Corporate Actions and Tax Systems oversees projects and programs through the complete project development life cycle.  The Program Manager is responsible for the project planning, execution of project tasks, mitigation of risks, resolution of issues, and management of resources to successfully meet project goals and deliverables.  The individual works closely with Corporate Actions and Tax sponsors and stakeholders to understand investment strategy, define project scope and deliverables, and ensure funding and staffing are available to meet project delivery goals.  The Program Manager. provides project updates and communicates effectively with project sponsors and stakeholders.  The individual may be tasked with high level project and program management as well as actively participating in detail level design, development, testing, user acceptance testing, and implementation planning for Corporate Actions and Tax Systems projects.

Position Duties:

  • Drives execution of small, medium, and large inter-disciplinary projects and programs from requirements to production. 
  • Manages execution of the project plans, controls the project budgets, ensures the effective use of project resources and coordinates change (often high-risk processes and/or system changes) control activities.
  • Facilitates trade off decisions between quality, costs, resources, scope and time to prioritize demand.
    Sets project priorities, provides overall direction and guidance to assigned project team and coordinates schedules and other related project activities.
  • Negotiates the scope and approach, and acts as liaison between appropriate groups/individuals and vendors/contractors.
  • Manage production support coverage and issue resolution acting as a point of escalation for critical production incidents.
  • Manage Secure Coding vulnerability remediation program for distributed (java) based applications.

1. Planning, Organization & Strategy

  • Coordinate the strategic development, operational planning and implementation of a program(s) and their underlying projects
  • Assist product/discipline owners in the development of business cases and budgets, including ROI analysis
  • Ensure project scope and objectives align to the overall program strategy.
  • Collect detailed individual work plans, schedules, project estimates, and resource plans to create an overall view of the program.
  • Plan for risk and develop strategies for dealing with potential risks as well as covering them.
  • Negotiate with project sponsors and other stakeholders to define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Organize project team and identify roles and responsibilities of each team member.
  • Negotiate the scope and approach and act as liaison between appropriate groups/individuals and vendors/contractors.
  • Provide project and portfolio status reporting and analysis to senior leadership teams
  • Ensure that all participants understand the objectives of the project and work together toward a common goal

2. Execution & Delivery

  • Drive execution of small, medium, and large projects from requirements to production.  - Manages execution of the project plan, controls the project budget, ensures the effective use of project resources and coordinates change control activities.
  • Effectively manage project team's time and allocate resources to ensure deliverables are completed.
  • Identifies and manages project dependencies and overall critical path to ensure the project execution is carried out timely and within budget.
  • Facilitates trade off decisions between quality, costs, resources, scope and time to prioritize demand.
  • Sets project priorities, provides overall direction and guidance to assigned project team and coordinates schedules and other related project activities.
  • Ensure that all project members adhere to strong project management and project execution standards and best practices throughout the project lifecycle

3. Leadership/People Management
 

  • Facilitates stakeholder engagement
  • Communicates consistently with stakeholders to understand expectations and business strategy as well as to provide project status.
  • Sets project priorities, provides overall direction and guidance to assigned project team and coordinates schedules and other related project activities.
  • Presents program updates to line of program/project oversight committees.
  • Ensures all work and documentation adhere to appropriate department/service line/project and SDLC standards.
  • May manage a team of project managers/business analysts
  • May act as a mentor to build and develop a strong team, as well as a growth and succession plans.

Knowledge Skills

  • Demonstrated understanding of project management principles, tools and techniques
  • Proficiency working with project management software (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Sharepoint, MS Project) to build and manage schedules, project financials and dashboard reporting.
  • Prior experience in Financial Institutions and/or Corporate Actions preferred
  • Experience with managing development projects in mainframe and distributed (java) based applications preferred
  • Experience with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
  • Experience in people management
  • Experience in risk management
  • Experience in change management

  • Experience prioritizing and executing tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Strong, effective interpersonal and negotiation skills and can communicate effectively with division executives, clients, and other external stakeholders.
  • Strong multitasking skills actively managing and/or participating in multiple projects simultaneously.

   

Salary Range

$130,000 - $180,000

BBH and its affiliates' compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
