Job Overview

We're looking for an experienced Program Manager to join our Global Business Operations team. This person will be responsible for leading high-impact, enterprise-wide initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complexity, can bring structure to ambiguity, and is energized by driving programs that directly influence company-wide outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
You will be the connective tissue between executive sponsors, GBO teammates, and partners across IT, Finance, Legal and the broader business. You will shape program strategy, translate it into clear plans and decisions, and keep many moving parts aligned toward a shared outcome. You will lead through influence, credibility, and clarity rather than formal authority. You will work directly with senior and executive leaders and are trusted to operate with minimal oversight.

Job Description and Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic programs from shaping and scoping through execution and measurable outcomes, accountable for results
  • Help define program strategy, success measures, and priorities alongside executive sponsors and senior leaders
  • Act as the connective tissue across teams, workstreams, and systems, surfacing dependencies, resolving conflicts, and keeping everyone working toward the same goal
  • Lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority, building trust and holding peers and partners accountable
  • Partner closely with GBO teammates, and serve as a trusted partner to other business units and their stakeholders
  • Build integrated roadmaps and plans that align scope, timelines, dependencies, budgets, and resources
  • Identify risks early, recommend tradeoffs, and drive decisions to resolution across competing priorities
  • Run effective governance, including steering committees, decision logs, and escalation paths, scaled to the needs of each program
  • Communicate with executive presence, delivering concise, decision-oriented updates to senior and executive leadership
  • Bring structure to ambiguity, and continuously improve how programs are delivered across GBO
  • Ad hoc responsibilities, as needed

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience leading complex, cross-functional programs or strategic initiatives with multiple concurrent workstreams
  • Demonstrated ability to lead without authority and influence senior stakeholders
  • Strong executive presence, with exceptional written and verbal communication and demonstrated credibility at the senior and executive level
  • Proven success owning enterprise-level programs from strategy through execution
  • Experience with programs involving IT, enterprise systems, or financial systems
  • Ability to operate autonomously, make sound decisions with minimal guidance, and bring structure to ambiguity
  • Strong command of program governance, risk management, and stakeholder alignment
  • Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies, and the judgment to choose the right approach for the work
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, drive clarity, and deliver outcomes

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP or equivalent certification
  • Experience in change management and organizational transformation is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Jira, Asana, Salesforce, and Excel, plus strong executive-level reporting skills
  • Background in high-growth, scaling, fast paced organizations

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
