About the Role

The Senior Program Engineer, Federal Platform Operations will lead large-scale federal platform, IT services and infrastructure initiatives spanning Engineering, Security, Compliance and Operations. This role will drive execution of Keeper’s federal platform roadmap, including FedRAMP High and DoD IL5 delivery, enterprise disaster recovery, infrastructure automation and Zero Trust identity programs.

This position requires strong technical depth combined with the ability to lead complex engineering initiatives across teams. You will shape technical priorities, drive infrastructure and automation improvements, strengthen observability and operational readiness, resolve cross-team dependencies and help build the Federal Platform Operations team while maintaining alignment with federal and commercial compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end execution of complex federal platform, IT services and infrastructure programs, including cloud modernization, automation and security integrations
  • Partner with Engineering, Security, Compliance and Product leadership to define program strategy, priorities, milestones and success criteria
  • Oversee large-scale cloud initiatives across AWS and federal environments, ensuring scalability, cost efficiency, security and operational resilience
  • Coordinate the Infrastructure-as-Code operating model for GovCloud, including Terraform coverage, automated deployments and reduction of manual change management
  • Lead enterprise disaster recovery initiatives, including cross-region failover architecture, recovery time and recovery point objective validation, and recurring resilience testing
  • Drive Zero Trust identity initiatives, including KeeperPAM deployment, SCIM expansion and automated identity lifecycle management for federal environments
  • Partner with Information Security to support FedRAMP High hardening, STIG validation and continuous compliance monitoring across federal-facing services
  • Integrate security-by-design and compliance requirements into federal platform and IT services programs, including FedRAMP, DoD Impact Levels, SOC 2 and ISO 27001
  • Collaborate with Security Engineering and the CISO organization to maintain program-level compliance and audit readiness
  • Coordinate with Engineering teams to improve deployment pipelines, reduce release friction and strengthen platform reliability
  • Champion automated testing, security scanning, release governance and repeatable operational processes
  • Oversee observability and monitoring initiatives to improve system visibility, performance and incident response across federal and commercial environments
  • Define and track service-level indicators, service-level objectives and error budgets in partnership with Engineering and Security teams
  • Recruit, onboard, mentor and develop Federal Platform Operations engineers as the team grows
  • Serve as a cross-functional technical liaison, ensuring clear communication, dependency tracking and alignment across teams
  • Manage program timelines, technical risks, dependencies and stakeholder expectations across multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Apply Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery methodologies based on program requirements
  • Evaluate emerging technologies that strengthen Keeper’s federal platform, IT services, cloud automation, security and monitoring capabilities
  • Use AI-enabled tools such as Claude, ChatGPT or similar platforms to support technical research, program analysis, documentation, stakeholder communication and workflow efficiency

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in federal IT, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering or related technical environments supporting government or regulated missions
  • 4+ years of experience leading technical programs, platform initiatives or complex cross-functional engineering projects in SaaS, cloud-native or cybersecurity environments
  • Demonstrated experience delivering against FedRAMP, DoD IL4/IL5, STIG or DoD Cloud Computing SRG requirements
  • Strong experience with AWS cloud services such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3 and IAM; AWS GovCloud experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and cloud automation technologies such as Terraform, container platforms and automated deployment pipelines
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, automation and modern platform engineering practices in federal environments
  • Demonstrated success managing complex initiatives in high-security, federal or compliance-driven environments
  • Experience with observability platforms such as Datadog, Prometheus or Grafana and associated incident-management workflows
  • Experience building, mentoring or leading technical teams in high-growth environments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders, resolve dependencies and manage expectations
  • Ability to use AI-enabled tools effectively to support technical research, documentation, analysis and program execution
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • U.S. citizenship required due to the nature of Keeper’s federal contracts

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified Security – Specialty or similar cloud certifications
  • HashiCorp Terraform Associate or Professional certification
  • Direct experience achieving or maintaining FedRAMP High or DoD IL5 authorization, including support for third-party assessment activities
  • Familiarity with NIST 800-53 control families and FedRAMP authorization processes
  • Exposure to secrets management, privileged access management or identity security platforms
  • Experience with security automation and compliance-as-code tooling in federal environments
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled products, AI security controls or AI governance programs
  • Active security clearance or ability to obtain a high-level U.S. Government clearance
  • PMP certification
