The role
We are seeking a Production Scientist I to join the Production department. Reporting to the Group Leader, this role involves supporting the manufacturing of both existing and new products.
How you’ll contribute:
Perform product-specific quality control (QC) protocols and collaborate with QA/QC and Applications & Development on new QC assay development.
Coordinate product manufacturing needs with the Production Planning and Formulation teams to meet forecasted demand.
Adhere to protocols and maintain proper documentation.
Provide technical expertise and assist customers with inquiries about relevant applications.
Troubleshoot product-related issues and participate in root cause analyses.
Collaborate with Research and Applications & Product Development groups to transfer new products into Production for commercialization.
Assist in managing multiple product builds, product launches, and product changes to ensure smooth transitions and timely delivery.
Fulfill OEM/Bulk custom orders and collaborate with the Customized Solutions team on new custom opportunities.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, or related discipline with at least 2 years of hands-on lab experience.
Experience in molecular biology techniques, including enzymatic assays, gel electrophoresis, DNA/RNA purification, and nucleic acid quantification.
Recognized as a team player with strong soft skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to perform effectively under pressure with high attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and communication skills, including good lab notebook practices.
Proven “good hands” at the bench and an ability to perform careful and consistent experiments.
What will make you stand out:
Experience in the life science industry is preferred.
Experience working in an ERP system (e.g., SAP) is preferred.
Estimated base salary hiring range for a Production Scientist I is $55,000-$61,000
Base salary is one component of our generous total rewards compensation package. Employees are eligible to receive:
- Annual discretionary profit-sharing bonus
- Participation in our Employee Stock Ownership Plan "ESOP" (eligible after two full years of service)
- Exceptional benefits package at a nominal cost to the employee including a 10% 401k match
