As security gets more complex and the number of technology solutions customers need to interface with continues to grow, one thing has become clear - cyber security operations need automation. In order to continue to stay relevant and effective in the face of increasingly sophisticated cyber threats and attacks companies must start leveraging Security Orchestration Automation and Response (SOAR) to bring calm to the chaos.
As Product Manager, on Rapid7’s SOAR team, you will embark on a mission to make SOAR accessible and intuitive so that it can be used by every security team and not just the security elite! This role is an amazing opportunity to become an impactful leader in an exciting, rapidly growing and global technology company.
Though the task at hand is audacious, you will not be alone! We have assembled a world class team of product managers, user experience designers, engineers and security experts to help surround you with incredible talent. However, the team is not complete - you are the missing piece!
Here is a snapshot of the work you'll be doing:
A key member of a squad of user experience designers and engineers to build best-in-class features and the most personalized SOAR solution ever!
Translate high level technical and functional requirements into detailed user stories that clearly articulate the benefit, goal and acceptance criteria to the engineering team
Work closely with the engineering team to ensure that requirements are prioritized, delivered on time, and meet the acceptance criteria
Conduct workshops with engineering, UX and other stakeholders to define the solution at both a technical and functional level
Manage the product backlog to ensure that the right things are being worked on at the right time, and ensure the rest of the business and customers know when milestones will get delivered
Define, track and report on the post-launch success metrics for the deliverables
Work with subject-matter experts like security analysts. consultants researchers to understand customer problems
Talk to customers to understand their pain points and motivations and translate these into requirements that support the product roadmap
Demo the product to customers, partners, customer advisory boards, and other internal groups
Previous experience as a product manager, product engineer or both is highly valued, but if you have strong cybersecurity domain knowledge (having previously worked as a security practitioner, technical account manager, sales engineer, or similar role), experience in the software industry, AND you are well organized, extremely customer driven, and really looking for a challenge as you grow to the next level -- this might be the perfect role for you.
What we'll expect
3+ years of related experience with a bachelor degree; or equivalent experience
Customer-centric thinking to understand pain points and clearly define requirements
Highly organized, detail oriented and deadline focused to help create, manage and drive product roadmap
Strong understanding of API fundamentals and/or computer science background
Strong analytical and decision making skills to prioritize activities, issues and business use in a fast moving continuous delivery environment
Strong presentation and communication skills to drive team alignment and build cross-functional relationships
Some travel may be required to Rapid7 offices to work with UX, Dev, and Security Practitioner partners, as well as some industry conferences
