Lead Product Manager, Vulnerability Management

Job Description:

Security teams are finding that they have more vulnerabilities on their network than their IT and development teams could possibly patch, particularly with growing enterprise adoption of cloud infrastructure, containers, and IoT devices. As the Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for driving the planning, execution and delivery of Rapid7’s Vulnerability Management products. In this pivotal role, you bring a broad understanding of the security market, the vendors that compete within it and the adjacent markets that support the buyer’s complete needs. You marry business savvy with technical knowledge to define product requirements, prioritize trade-offs, and measure customer impact throughout the software development lifecycle. This role is an amazing opportunity to play an impactful role in an exciting, rapidly growing and global technology company.

  • Key member of the VM Product Management team, responsible for ensuring the quality, fit-for-purpose and market impact of delivered product capabilities.

  • Work closely with Engineering and UX teams to determine technical solutions and user experience workflows to help customers achieve outcomes.

  • Drive planning sessions and prioritize work based on customer needs, product strategy and business impact, and track and communicate progress.

  • Obsess over customer adoption; gather customer feedback and operationalize product usage metrics to drive decision making and product evolution.

  • Act as product advocate and subject matter expert for both customers and internal stakeholders such as marketing, sales, support and customer success.

  • Interact with partners and key strategic customers to support their integration into our vulnerability and risk management tools and APIs.

  • Keep up to date on technology trends and their impact on the product roadmap.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in software technical product/project management.

  • Experience in building enterprise SaaS and interacting with businesses with complex structure.

  • Highly organized with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain cross-functional relationships.

  • Creative, strategic thinker with the ability to apply technical awareness to user stories.

  • Excellent presentation, written/verbal communication and customer-facing skills.

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline strongly preferred.

  • Experience with Agile and Scrum development methodology, acting as product owner for one or more engineering scrum teams would be highly beneficial.

  • Past experience in the security industry is a bonus.

An Insider's view of Rapid7

What does your typical day look like?

For the majority of the day it’s a mix of weekly check-ins with various teams, project updates, and the occasional brainstorm.

When I’m not in meetings I’ve got headphones in while planning, writing, or designing — at my desk or perched somewhere around the office.

How has your career grown since starting at the company?

Ive been on many teams in my time at Rapid7 and they have certainly “grown” from a size perspective, but more importantly, they all evolved with the changing times and needs. Some of the teams I was on were critical for our sales grown in an emerging market and though they no longer exist by name, I can see the tangible impact we made.
