What is Bilt?
Bilt is the membership for where you live.

What started as a way to reward people on their largest expense has turned into an ecosystem connecting our members, property managers and local merchants.
Travel, dining, fitness, everyday spend. We are building systems across payments, credit, loyalty, and commerce all at once.

We run lean and move quickly. Every person here has a real impact on what gets built and how fast it happens.

This role comes with real ownership and high expectations. If you prefer clearly defined lanes and structure, this will feel uncomfortable. If you want to build quickly, have a real say in what gets built, and work on products used by millions, you will likely do your best work here.
What’s the role?
As a Product Specialist on the Rentals pod, you will be the dedicated customer advocate for the resident rent payment experience and the housing platform that powers our multifamily partners. This role exists to make sure the products we ship are not only thoughtfully designed and launched, but continuously maintained and improved through tight feedback loops between our internal teams, our property manager partners, and residents.

You will sit at the intersection of product operations, product analysis, and quality assurance, working across the end-to-end leasing journey — from a resident finding and signing a lease to paying rent every month. You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Design, Operations, and Support to pressure-test flows, track performance, and surface the insights that make the experience better for both residents and the operators who serve them.

In this role, you will…
  • Represent residents and property manager partners in Rentals pod discussions and decision making
  • Run full product journeys end to end — leasing, onboarding, and monthly rent payment — to understand the real experience
  • Test new features, enhancements, and partner integrations across environments as the first line of defense for product quality
  • Document, prioritize, and drive bugs and usability issues to resolution in Linear alongside engineering and product
  • Monitor core product and business metrics tied to adoption, usage, and payment success across the Rentals platform
  • Analyze resident and partner behavior to identify trends, edge cases, failure points, and improvement opportunities
  • Partner directly with multifamily operators to understand how each partner's business works, and translate that into product feedback
  • Surface downstream implications for internal teams, partners, and residents before and after launch
  • Translate learnings from testing, support signals, and experimentation into clear, prioritized recommendations
  • Build and refine AI workflows using tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude to speed up testing, analysis, and documentation

In terms of qualifications, we’re seeking:
  • 2+ years of experience in a product role — product operations, product analytics, QA, consulting, or similar
  • Deeply obsessive about user experience and product quality, with natural attention to detail and strong product intuition
  • Genuine curiosity — you dig into how something works and why it broke rather than logging it and moving on
  • Strong partnering skills: able to work directly with external partners, understand their business, and map what you learn onto product feedback
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with product and business data
  • Ability to synthesize quantitative signals and qualitative feedback into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate issues and recommendations
  • High comfort using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude in day-to-day work, and the ability to design and iterate on AI-driven workflows
  • Nice to have:
    • Experience in proptech, multifamily, or real estate technology
    • Experience working closely with engineering and design teams
    • Familiarity with analytics tools or SQL
    • Experience supporting both consumer and partner-facing products

Benefits:
  • Compensation - We offer a competitive salary with a meaningful stake in the company via equity and our performance bonus program
  • Health insurance for you (& your loved ones) from day one - Enjoy a One Medical Membership, wellness stipends, family programs and more, on us. We’ve got you and your family covered from day one.
  • 401k plan with a match - Retirement may feel more like a pipe dream than a reality but we’re here to help you get there.
  • Commuter FSAs - We believe the best ideas come from being together in one place. We just don’t think getting there should be so expensive.
  • UNLIMITED PTO - Because we believe that working hard shouldn’t mean always working. Take time for you as often as you need it.
  • Exclusive Employee only Bilt Points - We give our employees unique opportunities to earn points throughout their time at Bilt.
  • Team Events - We believe in human connection so we hold events to help our employees break from the monotony of the typical work week.

At Bilt Rewards, we believe in transparency and we do our best to make sure the company and our candidates are on the same page as it relates to compensation. In addition to posting salary ranges for our open roles, candidates should expect to be asked about compensation expectations and requirements early on in their interview process. Our goal is to highlight when expectations and Bilt’s salary range may be out of sync, and work with the candidate to determine whether it makes sense to continue conversations.

We are considering candidates with differing levels of expertise for this position. Leveling will be based upon your experience and performance in the interview process.

Where a new hire falls within a range will be based on their individual skills and experience, and how these competencies compare across other employees in the same role. Bilt's bands are designed to allow for individual compensation growth within the role. As such, new hires typically start at the lower end of the range. Bilt rewards performance and outcomes - should you join the company, you will have the opportunity to grow your salary over time.

The salary range for a Product Specialist is $70,000 - 120,000 and will be eligible for equity and an annual performance-based bonus.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
