OVERVIEW:
The Product Safety Engineer will interact with team members in the US and China. They will have direct involvement with our certification partners for electrical safety, restricted materials, sanitization and chemical substances. The candidate will be responsible for all compliance activities for low and medium complexity projects for the product category assigned covering all regions where the product is marketed.
Here are some of the EXCITING things you'll get to do:
  • Evaluate marketplace data and consumer events for safety risks
  • Conduct product and region-specific Risk Assessment on new product development projects
  • Support certification projects for legacy product changes
  • Lead design reviews at key milestones for your projects
  • Present the status of your projects and associated project risks
  • Support preparation of executive review updates on all team activities

Requirements and Responsibilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar technical discipline
  • Familiarity with hazard analysis tools (DFMEA, FTA) preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of compliance or design related experience of consumer or commercial electromechanical products preferred
  • Entry level knowledge of regulatory standards or governmental regulations
  • Operate comfortably in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining continuous track of key details
  • Multi-task, maintaining a continuous comprehensive understanding of project status
  • Present creative and technically sound solutions to complex problems
  • Analyze operations and promote continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work with conviction and demonstrate strength on key positions yet be able to collaborate and compromise where appropriate
  • Think independently with moderate supervision and generate ideas within their area of expertise
  • Communicate complex technical information to audiences with varying technical understanding
  • Adapt well to change
  • Work effectively independently
  • Ability to present effectively to all levels within the organization, demonstrating comfort and confidence in collaborating with colleagues and superiors

Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is displayed below. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Pay Range
$69,000-$120,800 USD
