Summary of Role

Command Alkon is looking for a Product Owner of Batching Hardware to take strategic and operational ownership of our hardware offerings that support concrete production and automation across our global batching automation portfolio, including COMMANDbatch, Marcotte Mbatch, Conactive CP, Libra, and other supported platforms. This role is ideal for a hands-on industry expert with deep knowledge of batching equipment who can drive product direction, partner closely with internal teams, and ensure our hardware portfolio evolves to meet the demands of modern, connected production environments.

This individual will serve as the point person for all things related to batching-specific hardware—ensuring the right products are offered, supported, and integrated into our software platforms. You’ll work closely with our central hardware procurement team to evaluate vendors and manage supply-side decisions, while also aligning closely with software product teams to ensure seamless hardware/software integration across our batching automation solutions and emerging cloud-connected and AI-enabled technologies.

How You’ll Succeed

Own the Batching Hardware Portfolio:

·       Manage the lifecycle of Command Alkon’s batching-specific hardware—scales, I/O devices, panels, sensors, and related control systems—from planning and selection to retirement across our batching automation product lines.

Define Product Strategy:

·       Develop and execute a clear, forward-looking strategy for how Command Alkon supports hardware in the batching process across its global automation portfolio, balancing internal innovation, third-party solutions, and market needs.

Collaborate on Vendor Strategy:

·       Work closely with Command Alkon’s centralized hardware procurement and sourcing teams to recommend vendors, evaluate products, assess costs, and help manage margin goals.

Align with Software Teams:

·       Coordinate with software product managers and control system engineers to ensure hardware works seamlessly across COMMANDbatch, Marcotte Mbatch, Conactive CP, Libra, and cloud-connected solutions such as Command Alkon BATCH and BATCH AI.

Evaluate and Update Hardware Offerings:

·       Assess hardware health and lifecycle, introduce new hardware products, retire outdated components, and ensure compatibility with current and future software releases across supported batching platforms.

Support Sales and Delivery Teams:

·       Enable sales, services, and implementation teams with documentation, configuration guidance, and strategic input on hardware components for new or upgraded plants.

Customer-Focused Input:

·       Gather and analyze customer feedback on hardware usability, performance, and needs to inform future direction and roadmap priorities.

What You Bring

·       7+ years of experience in the concrete production, construction materials, or industrial automation industry, with significant exposure to batching hardware.

·       Strong understanding of the full hardware stack used in batching: control panels, scale systems, sensors, PLCs, JBoxes, and other critical components across different batching automation architectures.

·       Experience in product management, technical project management, or a role involving ownership of a product or system offering.

·       Proven ability to work effectively with procurement, engineering, software product teams, and field services.

·       Ability to evaluate hardware trends, assess cost-benefit tradeoffs, and support data-driven decisions around product portfolio and vendor selection.

·       Experience working for a ready-mix or precast producer in a production, engineering, or technical role.

·       Familiarity with COMMANDbatch, Marcotte Mbatch, Conactive CP, Libra, or other batching automation systems.

·       Background in electrical or controls engineering a plus.

·       Exposure to cloud-connected systems or IoT technologies in plant environments.
