About this role*:   

The Toast Product Marketing team is responsible for connecting the Sales, Product, and Marketing teams to inform product development and bring new products to market through customer segmentation, value-based messaging, sales knowledge transfer, and cross-functional marketing activation. In this high-impact team, you will gain substantial senior leadership exposure and the opportunity to drive long-term customer and shareholder value at a hyper-growth company.

As the Product Marketing Manager for Hardware, you will have the opportunity to drive GTM strategy for the product offerings most central to the Toast customer experience. You will partner closely with the Product, Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams to drive go-to-market (GTM) strategies for key products across the front-of-house and back-of-house restaurant hardware portfolio, including Terminals, Handhelds, Kitchen Display Screens, and more. You will lead and collaborate on initiatives relating to product launch and lifecycle, inventory management and campaigns planning, product positioning and messaging, and qualitative and quantitative insights from customer and market research to inform our longer term roadmap and GTM strategies. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of bringing new products to market, driving cross-functional alignment and leadership, and strong critical thinking and analytical skills to excel in a growth environment.


Key responsibilities

  • Lead go-to-market strategy, launch processes, and stakeholder management, and influence product development for new hardware products and features
  • Partner with Product, hardware operations, and finance to develop key initiatives to drive efficient product adoption
  • Become a market and sector expert on key restaurant hardware products, and use customer and market research to inform both product and GTM strategy
  • Take ownership of conversion and adoption metrics and GTM performance, and implement cross-functional plans to drive improvements
  • Collaborate with Sales Enablement to drive sales productivity through product knowledge transfer, seller collateral, and value-based talk tracks

Do you have the right ingredients* (Requirements)

  • 4+ years of combined experience in product marketing, product management, operational roles, finance, sales and strategy consulting.
  • Strong ability to navigate complex and ambiguous situations across a fast-growing organization
  • Demonstrated proficiency in leading cross-functional partnerships with diverse teams to develop strategic plans and achieve desired goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to combine complex content into a clear and cohesive story to gain both internal and external buy-in
  • Data-minded with strong analytical capabilities
  • Proven ability to uncover and deeply understand the needs and desires of customers and translate those learnings into product and go-to-market strategies


Special Sauce* (Nonessential Skills/Nice to Haves)

  • Inbound and outbound product marketing experience, such as launching new products/features and developing segment-targeted positioning and messaging for a multi-product technology platform
  • Experience in B2B sales enablement
  • Experience with Salesforce, SQL, and/or Looker
  • Previous restaurant industry experience
  • Previous hardware and manufacturing timeline management experience

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.

Pay Range

$115,000$184,000 USD
