At Sonos we want to create the ultimate listening experience for our customers and know that it starts by listening to each other. As part of the Sonos team, you’ll collaborate with people of all styles, skill sets, and backgrounds to realize our vision while fostering a community where everyone feels included and empowered to do the best work of their lives.

Sonos is the leading sound experience brand, on a mission to bring the joy of music and audio to everyone. We build premium hardware, deeply integrated software, and cloud-connected platform experiences that need to feel effortless to the millions of households that trust us in their homes every day. Delivering on that promise takes product managers who care as much about the details as they do about the big picture — and we’re looking for a Software Product Manager to help us do exactly that.

We’re hiring a Software Product Manager to help drive a focused area of the Sonos software platform or user experience. This is a great role for a Product Manager who has a couple of years of hands-on product experience under their belt and is ready to take on more ownership — someone who’s comfortable running with a defined problem space, partnering closely with engineering and design day-to-day, and growing their strategic and technical range with the support of a more senior team.

The specific product area will be shaped around team needs and your strengths, but you can expect to own meaningful, well-scoped pieces of the Sonos software and platform experience, working closely with a Principal Product Manager who can help you grow.

Location: Qualified applicants must live within commuting distance of our Boston, MA or Seattle, WA office locations and should expect to be in office a minimum of 3 days per week. #LI-Hybrid

Visa Sponsorship: Sonos is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this role at this time. We ask that applicants be authorized to work for us in country of role posting, both now and in the future.

What You’ll Do
  • Own execution for a defined product area. Manage the day-to-day roadmap, backlog, and delivery for a specific feature set or workflow within a larger platform or experience.

  • Turn requirements into shippable plans. Take direction from senior PMs or leads and translate it into clear specs, user stories, and acceptance criteria that engineering and design can build against.

  • Represent the customer. Use research, data, and direct customer feedback to inform day-to-day decisions and advocate for a simple, reliable experience.

  • Sweat the details. Help hold the quality bar on your area — testing edge cases, catching gaps, and making sure things work the way customers expect, every time.

  • Collaborate closely with engineering and design. Be a reliable, easy-to-work-with partner in stand-ups, planning, and reviews, building trust through clarity and follow-through.

  • Communicate up and across. Keep stakeholders informed with clear status updates, well-organized docs, and thoughtful trade-off write-ups.

  • Build your strategic muscle. Work alongside senior PMs to learn how strategy, prioritization, and roadmap trade-offs are made — with room to take on more ownership over time.

  • Use AI to work smarter. Apply AI tools to speed up research synthesis, spec drafting, data analysis, and other day-to-day PM work, and bring a curious, experimental mindset to improving your own workflow.

What You’ll NeedBasic Qualifications
  • 2–4 years of Product Management experience, ideally including some exposure to technical, platform, or systems-oriented products in a consumer software or connected-hardware environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to ship features or improvements with attention to quality and customer experience.

  • Growing technical fluency — comfortable in conversations with engineers about how things work, and eager to deepen that understanding.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to break down a defined problem into a clear, actionable plan.

  • Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to write straightforward specs and status updates.

  • A practical, hands-on approach to using AI tools in daily PM work (e.g., research synthesis, spec drafting, data analysis), with enthusiasm for learning more.

  • Comfort working in a lean team environment, where prioritization and resourcefulness matter.

  • A collaborative, low-ego approach — easy to work with, takes feedback well, and eager to learn from more senior teammates.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to platform, ecosystem, or infrastructure-adjacent product work (APIs, developer platforms, multi-device or connected systems).

  • Interest or experience in audio, smart home, IoT, or other connected-hardware categories.

  • Experience using AI-assisted tools or workflows to support product development.
