The Opportunity
Product Manager – Knowledge and Intelligence Platform
Northern Light is seeking a Product Manager – Knowledge and Intelligence Platform to help shape and deliver the content and intelligence foundation behind our business research and competitive intelligence platform.
This is a hands-on, mid-level product role ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of content, data, search, and applied AI—and who is excited to build scalable systems that turn raw information into trusted enterprise insight. In this position, you’ll work closely with engineering, data science, and business stakeholders to support key platform capabilities that help customers discover, analyze, and act on business intelligence from both open-web sources and licensed premium content delivered through customer portals.
What You’ll Work On
- Build and manage curated content collections and intelligence products from open-source and web-based data.
- Identify new ways to package and enhance content offerings for enterprise research, competitive intelligence, and marketing workflows.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure content coverage, usability, and customer value.
- Manage key parts of the content lifecycle, including ingestion, normalization, enrichment, and delivery.
- Help define requirements for metadata generation, classification, entity recognition, and content quality controls.
- Support scalable and reliable content processing pipelines in collaboration with technical teams.
- Contribute to AI-powered functionality applied to content, including NLP, summarization, clustering, trend detection, and signal generation.
- Partner with Data Science and Engineering to translate model capabilities into usable, customer-facing intelligence features.
- Improve relevance, ranking, filtering, and insight discovery across platform search.
- Combine provider metadata with AI-generated metadata to improve findability, trust, and insight generation.
Licensed Content & Provider Collaboration
A key part of this role involves working closely with external providers who supply licensed content used in customer portals.
You will:
- Support provider integrations and content-related platform outcomes.
- Help define metadata requirements, quality standards, and integration success criteria.
- Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Legal to onboard and evolve provider relationships.
- Act as a liaison to ensure licensed content supports roadmap priorities and differentiated intelligence products.
(Note: commercial negotiations are handled elsewhere—this role focuses on product and platform alignment.)
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years of experience in SaaS product delivery, content platforms, or data-intensive systems.
- Comfort working with metadata, search relevance, and content-driven workflows.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, data science, and external partners.
- Strong analytical and systems-thinking mindset.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- A growth-oriented PM who enjoys solving complex platform problems (this is not a director-level role).
- Experience with product management tools and analytics platforms.
Work authorization requirements:
Must be authorized to work in the United States (unfortunately, we cannot sponsor visas).
What We Offer:
- Benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
- Holiday and Paid time off.
- Parental leave.
- Life and disability insurance.
- Remote flexibility and a supportive team culture.
- Opportunity to work with top global brands and cutting-edge AI solutions.
