At Breeze, we're building the AI-powered infrastructure layer for global commerce, making it radically simpler for businesses to sell, get paid, and operate across markets.
We go far beyond traditional payment processing. Breeze combines global payments, AI, stablecoins, and a Merchant of Record-like model to take on the complexity businesses typically manage themselves, including compliance, risk, fraud, chargebacks, reconciliation, and customer support.
Our goal is simple: let businesses focus on building and selling great products while Breeze handles the complexity behind getting paid.
Backed by Sequoia Capital, Multicoin Capital, and The Chainsmokers, Breeze is a successful, rapidly growing, and exceptionally well-capitalized company. We have the runway to think long term while remaining early enough that every person joining today can have a meaningful impact on what we build.
Overview
We are hiring for for a Lead Product Manager, Card Issuing to build and scale Breeze’s card issuing platform from the ground up.
This is a true 0 to 1 product opportunity. You will own the strategy, development, launch, and ongoing iteration of our card program, from standing up the underlying issuing infrastructure to building the customer experiences that sit on top of it.
This role goes far beyond launching a physical or virtual card. You will help define how the entire card program operates, including its economics, transaction flows, ledgering, reconciliation, risk controls, operational processes, and customer experience.
You will work at the intersection of payments, banking infrastructure, risk, compliance, finance, operations, and product. We are looking for someone who has built card products before, understands what happens throughout the full transaction lifecycle, and is excited to build again in a fast-moving environment.
What You’ll Do
- Own Breeze’s card issuing product end to end, defining the strategy, roadmap, and operating model from 0 to 1 launch through scale
- Build and launch physical and virtual card products, including activation, card controls, spending limits, real-time notifications, tokenization, digital wallets, and Apple Pay and Google Pay integrations
- Own the full card transaction lifecycle, from authorization, clearing, and settlement through refunds, reversals, disputes, chargebacks, and reconciliation
- Build the infrastructure and partnerships required to scale, working closely with Engineering and external partners including issuing banks, BIN sponsors, processors, networks, and card manufacturers
- Shape the economics of the card program, optimizing interchange revenue, network and processing costs, fraud losses, rewards, operational costs, and overall customer value
- Partner across Risk, Compliance, Engineering, and Operations to build scalable ledgering, reconciliation, fraud, KYC, servicing, and reporting capabilities
- Use data to continuously improve the product, leveraging customer feedback, transaction data, authorization rates, fraud metrics, and program economics to identify opportunities and anticipate risks
- Make thoughtful product tradeoffs across customer experience, technical complexity, speed, compliance, risk, and economics as the program grows
What We’re Looking For
- 6+ years of Product Management experience, ideally across fintech, payments, banking, embedded finance, or crypto
- Proven experience launching a card issuing product from 0 to 1 or leading a significant expansion of an existing card program
- Deep understanding of the card transaction lifecycle, including authorization, clearing, settlement, refunds, disputes, and reconciliation
- Strong understanding of card program infrastructure and economics, including interchange, network and processing costs, fraud losses, rewards, and operational expenses
- Experience working closely with Engineering on complex financial systems, including ledgering, reconciliation, and transaction processing
- Experience managing relationships and integrations with issuing banks, processors, BIN sponsors, payment networks, or embedded finance partners
- Strong technical and product judgment, with the ability to make thoughtful decisions across customer experience, risk, compliance, economics, and technical complexity
- A builder mentality with the ability to move quickly, take ownership, and navigate ambiguity without an established playbook
Nice to Have
- Experience in an early-stage or high-growth startup environment
- Experience with physical and virtual card issuance, manufacturing, fulfillment, and lifecycle management
- Experience with tokenization, digital wallet provisioning, Apple Pay, or Google Pay
- Experience building card controls, spending limits, rewards, or other cardholder experiences
- Experience with KYC/KYB, fraud prevention, transaction monitoring, disputes, or chargebacks
- Experience with embedded finance, Banking as a Service, consumer wallets, or financial applications
- Experience with crypto, stablecoins, blockchain-based payments, or digital wallets
