Role Summary: Decide what TradeEngage builds next, then build it. You'll own the product roadmap with the founders and write the production code that ships it. About half your time goes to customers and priorities, and half goes to shipping. Target: 4+ years building software products, including 3+ years writing production code, and hands-on experience building AI agents.
Role Overview
This role is for an engineer who has owned product decisions, or a product manager who still ships code. You'll take a problem from a customer conversation to a working feature or integration in production without handing it off.
This role is not for you if you want to write specs and hand them to engineers, manage a team, or spend your week running sprint ceremonies. It is also not for you if you haven't written and maintained code that real customers use in production. You'll write code most weeks, and you'll be accountable for whether what you shipped moved the numbers.
About TradeEngage
- We're the only enterprise-grade referral platform for home services (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, pest control, and restoration). We've created a new way for companies to turn every job and every call into the next one through referrals
- Founding team: ex-VC/PE that covered home services software. Founding engineers from one of the largest B2B healthcare marketplaces, a Sequoia-backed unicorn
- Backed by former operators and executives from the largest home services companies in the world
- $650B market. We're building category-defining infrastructure for home service companies
- Enterprise customers are already signed and live
What's in it for You
- Post-PMF with enterprise customers signed and revenue compounding, and early enough for meaningful equity and product ownership
- You own the product end to end. You choose the feature, design it, ship it, and own the results
- You work directly with the founders. They ramp you up, then hand you the keys
- Work remote from anywhere in the U.S. or Canada, with the option to relocate or collaborate in person in Miami
What You'll Do
- Roadmap: Own a 2-3 month roadmap with the founders and defend it with revenue and usage data
- Build: Ship features end to end across the frontend, API, and data layer. Prototype in code, not slides
- Integrations: Scope and build field service and partner integrations, including the data model and edge cases
- AI agents: Build agents that turn support tickets, call transcripts, and product data into priorities, and build agentic features inside the product
- Customers: Spend time with technicians, call centers, owners, and enterprise brands to deliver a solution that reduces their marketing spend
- Launch: Roll out with Sales and Customer Success, including enterprise brands and franchisors
- Metrics: Set success criteria before anything ships, instrument what you build, and cut what nobody uses
Qualifications
Required

- Technical depth. Production experience with React, Python, and PostgreSQL. You build across the frontend, API, and data layer, and you're strong in SQL and data modeling
- Business judgment. You find the underlying need and prioritize on revenue and margin impact, not on the loudest voice
- Customer contact. You've spent time with the people who use what you build, in the field or on their calls
- Location. Based in the U.S. or Canada
