Job Description SummaryAre you passionate about contributing to the design and development of innovative products and solutions? As a Lead Engineer in Product Definition Engineering, you will play a critical role in the technical improvement of existing products and components while also influencing the creation of new products. You will be responsible for departmental operations planning and execution within a technical discipline, functioning with autonomy guided by established policies and end-result reviews.

In this role, you will provide technical leadership and direction to the product definition team, managing near and long-term projects with significant business impact. Your responsibilities will include project and program management, tracking progress, and resolving problems. Your expertise will drive the team towards achieving quality, volume, and timeliness standards.Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Technical Leadership:

  • Stay current with state-of-the-art technical specialties to support new product introductions, performance improvements, cost reductions, and problem resolution.
  • Serve as a recognized leader in defining state-of-the-art technical specialties to anticipate, develop, and apply technology to current and future business opportunities.

Engineering Design Support:

  • Provide engineering design support for teams working on performance, cost, and quality initiatives.
  • Leverage your expertise to resolve problems in the field or during manufacturing processes.

Project and Program Management:

  • Lead projects, programs, and assignments, ensuring goals for cost, quality, and schedules are met.
  • Function as a program manager when appropriate, providing technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineering designers.

Intellectual Property and Training:

  • Protect the company's Intellectual Property rights.
  • Develop and implement training modules as necessary to support team development.

Collaboration and Support:

  • Support other GE businesses, suppliers, and internal/external customers in meeting their needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional work experience in Product Definition Engineering.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening.
