What you'll do
Lead product and engineering teams for CarGurus' online retail experience. Duties include: identify solutions in complex data sets to transform insights into strategic opportunities for CarGurus; partner with leadership teams across engineering, product, data engineering, data science, and marketing teams to support and implement high-quality, data driven decisions; utilize SQL and Python expertise, conduct exploratory empirical analyses that bridge disparate data sources to quantify product performance, user behavior, and/or market trends; design and build technical processes to solve business issues; manage and optimize processes for data intake, validation, mining, and engineering, modeling, visualization, and communication deliverables; oversee the design and delivery of reports and insights that analyze business functions and key operations and performance metrics; craft the metrics that define business success, condensing abstract or loosely-defined concepts down to concrete calculations; audit and improve existing metrics to better inform the business' needs; advocate data-driven product innovations that align high-level company strategy; collaborate with the product/engineering teams; participate in brainstorming and planning discussions support CarGurus goals; provide technical guidance on and ideas for improving A/B testing-related tools, algorithms, and automated processes; build intuitive dashboards and other visual monitoring tools to guide daily decision-making by senior stakeholders and the company at large; communicate and present complex quantitative findings in easily digestible terms to company leadership, homing in on key takeaways; train and mentor analyst-level employees; develop onboarding plans and training materials; and provide guidance in best practices and encourage innovative data solutions. What you'll bring
Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Finance, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Requires two (2) years of experience in each of the following: DBT, Google Suite, or Microsoft Suite; SQL; Statistical programming, including R, Stata, SAS or Python; core statistical concepts, including regression, significance testing, omitted variable bias, and independence/dependence; Looker, Snowflake, Salesforce, or Jira; and Data analytics, including data modeling and analysis of user behavior.

The displayed range represents the expected annual base salary / On-Target Earnings (OTE) for this position. On-Target Earnings (OTE) is inclusive of base salary and on-target commission earnings, which applies exclusively to sales roles.
Individual pay within this range is determined by work location and other factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
This annual base salary forms part of a comprehensive Total Rewards Package. In addition to benefits, this role may qualify for discretionary bonuses/incentives and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
Position Pay Range
$122,400 - $151,000 USD
