Job Title:

Procurement Manager, Energy Solutions

Company:

Prologis

A day in the life

The Manager, Procurement - Energy Solutions, Americas develops, owns, and continuously improves procurement programs that support Prologis’ Energy Solutions business. The role partners with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to build resilient, cost-effective, and scalable sourcing strategies for energy and real estate projects. It translates portfolio demand into sourcing programs and supports delivery teams from early scope definition through award, contracting, and supplier execution. The role brings strategic procurement judgment together with hands-on sourcing and negotiation across solar, storage, EV and mobility, onsite generation, microgrids, electrical infrastructure, and related services.

This position requires a strategic mindset combined with hands-on execution skills. The ideal candidate brings experience sourcing, negotiating, and awarding vendors that supply, execute, and maintain assets in the solar, storage, EV/mobility, onsite generation, microgrids and other electrical infrastructure spaces. This includes Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts, master supply agreements, strategic long-lead equipment across energy projects, and the ability to navigate evolving policy and market conditions impacting the global energy industry and supply chains.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead competitive sourcing, negotiations, and contracting for equipment, construction, and service partners supporting energy projects, including commercial terms related to performance guarantees, delay damages, warranties, payment, delivery, change orders, and service obligations.
  • Develop category strategies across energy and renewable assets by analyzing supply chains, costs, lead times, supplier capabilities, and changing supply-and-demand conditions, while maintaining strategic supplier relationships.
  • Establish and maintain the Energy Solutions procurement engagement model, including intake, ownership, decision rights, response expectations, and coordination across active and upcoming sourcing needs.
  • Take a portfolio-wide view of Energy Solutions categories to aggregate demand, identify supplier synergies, standardize procurement approaches, optimize the supplier base, and strengthen purchasing leverage while preserving competition and supply resilience.
  • Monitor market, regulatory, and supply-chain risks, including cost volatility, supplier financial health, sustainability requirements, tariff exposure, applicable domestic-content and tax-credit sourcing rules, and prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements; develop actionable mitigation strategies.
  • Manage sourcing initiatives end to end, including RFP execution, bid evaluation, vendor qualification, award decisions, supplier onboarding, vendor communications, performance standards, and coordination with project teams on technical inputs.
  • Partner with suppliers, Finance, project teams, and other stakeholders to define requirements, manage and expedite inventory, maintain delivery and inventory records for bulk equipment purchases, track storage locations and project assignments, and support reallocation when project needs change.

Building blocks for success

Required:

  • 5+ years of procurement and sourcing experience, including negotiations, contracting, supplier management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience conducting and evaluating RFPs for energy-related contractors, service providers, long-lead equipment, material vendors, or new technologies.
  • Procurement experience in at least one energy infrastructure category, such as EPC services, solar or BESS equipment, electrical infrastructure, or operations and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated success improving total cost of ownership, managing procurement and supplier risks, or improving supplier performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to scale procurement strategies and processes across an enterprise.
  • Ability to develop recommendations and influence cross-functional and geographically dispersed stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support business objectives.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience working in energy or on energy infrastructure projects.
  • Experience across energy categories such as solar systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems, generators, fuel cells, transformers, inverters, data acquisition systems, switchgear, or other strategic long-lead equipment.
  • Experience negotiating Operations and Maintenance agreements, service level agreements, or Long-Term Service Agreements.
  • Experience navigating market or policy conditions affecting the U.S. energy and renewables sector.
  • Demonstrates willingness and capability to leverage emerging technology, automation, and AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and speed. Exercises sound judgment, creative thinking, and accountability for outcomes.

Hiring Salary Range of:

$116,000 - $159,000. Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target) to be determined by the candidate’s location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
