You will work closely with team members and other departments-such as legal and IT-to help draft, review and finalize contract terms. On a day-to-day basis, the Procurement Contract Associate Manager will orchestrate multiple simultaneous projects which will require excellent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills. The focus is on negotiation and drafting contracts based upon documented standards and with support from the Procurement organization, including Category Management and Supplier Relationship Management stakeholders s, as well as subject matter experts across the enterprise. This role supports the contracting process by working with internal stakeholders to gather input and approvals, explaining deal terms and risks to the business, and negotiating with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Understand the business drivers behind assigned transactions and help develop an execution plan.
- Serve as a central point of contact for each contract, using organizational skills to help ensure deals are negotiated and executed on time.
- Engage with internal stakeholders (line of business, legal, compliance, data security) to help assess risks specific to each transaction.
- Draft and redline contracts to help ensure MassMutual is protected from risks, escalating deviations from standards to internal stakeholders as needed via documented escalation paths.
- Engage in negotiations with suppliers to help produce contracts that meet MassMutual standards and business objectives.
- Collaborate closely with the Procurement team and other stakeholders.
- Identify inefficiencies in existing procedures, help uncover bottlenecks, and suggest improvements to streamline contracting processes.
The Minimum Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in contract evaluation, drafting, and redlining contracts and negotiating with suppliers
- Bachelor's Degree
- OR in lieu of a bachelor's degree, we require High School Diploma or GED and 6+ years of equivalent experience with specifically 2+ years in drafting/negotiating contract terms and conditions and 2+ years in managing supplier engagements
The Ideal Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience include redlining and negotiation of IT and technology related contracts including but not limited to Software as a Service (SaaS), hardware, software licensing, IT professional services
- Detail-oriented with a track record of accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with procurement teams and stakeholders
- Eagerness to learn and further develop contract negotiation skills
