Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech.? Vishay Centerline is currently seeking applicants for a Process Engineering Intern. This position will provide the opportunity to use your education to tackle real world engineering challenges. In this role, you will work with highly dedicated and skilled manufacturing professionals as you assist to improve the operations with a variety of hands-on projects that will add value to the business through day-to-day manufacturing support and yield and cycle time improvement. You will be assigned to one of the manufacturing areas such as lapping or Diamond polishing; in which you will learn hands on to perform the standard processes in order to facility a better understanding of the processes.
Job Location:
Vishay Centerline is located in Hudson, Massachusetts. There are around 20 employees in this machine shop operation and it is a first shift operation. This role is an on-site position.
What you will be doing:
- In first few weeks you will spend time at a Sister Division in Hollis NH, where you will experience the next steps of manufacturing for the product that the Centerline produces.
- In following few weeks of Internship you will learn to perform the standard process/operations for the process area assigned;
- In final months of COOP you will work directly with the Divisional Engineering Director, to:
- Fully document the processes you were trained on in the assigned area
- Implement at least 1 improvement project for that department, which entails:
- Perform research, development, testing and validation of experiments for process improvements in that same area;
- Assure the accuracy and completeness of all files, engineering documents, and tasks of assigned projects;
- Perform and execute DOE’s to improve process capability, cycle times, and yields in the process area assigned to;
- Create/improve data collection tools in order to improve data accuracy and cycle time.
- At the end of your internship, you will provide a detailed presentation of your accomplishments to the members of the operational team and divisional management
What you will bring along:
- Currently pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
- Entering senior/junior year in fall of 2025.
- Previous experience in machine shop a plus.
- Must have the ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Able to perform work under a microscope and in a machine shop environment.
- Must have effective written and verbal communication skills and be able to present information effectively in one-one-one and small group situations.
- Moderate or greater proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word,Powerpoint and Outlook.
- Previous experience with JMP, Minitab, Matlab, and/or LabView a plus.
- Must be focused, energetic, self-starting and self-managed individual with impeccable attention to detail and time management skills.
