We foster a collaborative culture with no silos, where everyone is encouraged to think out loud. If you are passionate about your craft and don't give up until you've found a way, you will make an ideal Builder!

What You’ll Do

As a Process Engineer, New Product Introduction, you will work on an interdisciplinary team to bring products from the lab into mass production. Your primary objective is to rapidly iterate and advance the product to ensure it is manufacturable, cost-effective, meets quality standards, and meets all requirements before launch to market.

Who You Are

You have strong communication skills, flexibility, and a willingness to “wear many hats,” all of which will be essential for any successful applicant.  You will work with complex machines at different levels of development, solving tough engineering challenges along the way. Projects will consist of a combination of hands-on work and data analysis/presentation.  You will take full ownership of your work, drive forward independently, and maintain a strong sense of urgency. You know when to pivot, prioritize, and adapt to shifting demands to keep progress on track.

This role requires cross-functional collaboration, critical thinking for root cause analysis, and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position generally requires a commitment of 5 days onsite per week.

Responsibilities

*Responsibilities are subject to change based on shifting business needs

  • Develop experiments to test individual process variables

  • Work with prototype and production machines and determine their operating ranges

  • Work cross-functionally to gather input from many different stakeholders across multiple systems

  • Troubleshoot instrumentation on machines

  • Continuous improvement: analyze machine performance data to enhance quality, reduce costs, and increase throughput

  • Characterization of materials and parts via microscopy, profilometry, and dimensional analysis

  • Document data and findings to present data clearly and concisely

  • Build process testing rigs

  • Perform failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and risk assessments

  • Work cross-functionally to push the envelope of what is possible

  • Have a safety-first mindset in all aspects of your work

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, materials, systems, or chemical engineering or a similar discipline

  • 2-4 years of experience, preferably in advanced manufacturing or an environment working with precision machines or industrial equipment

  • Hands-on experience working directly with industrial equipment

  • Experience working with pilot or production machines

  • Basic programming and data analysis skills

  • A "get it done" attitude, demonstrating resourcefulness and a drive to find creative solutions to difficult, ambiguous challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Readiness and enthusiasm to work in a dynamic environment that features: rapidly changing requirements, quick iteration with novel hardware, heavy communication demands, and process development that involves critical, high-risk trade-offs.

  • Dynamic and flexible mindset, easily balancing the immediate needs of the day-to-day with long-term strategic thinking and planning.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a demonstrated ability to effectively interpret and present complex technical data.

SALARY RANGE: $95,000 - $115,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role offers a competitive Bonus plan that will take into account individual, group, and corporate performance.  This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role. However, we recognize that exceptional candidates may bring unique skills and experiences that exceed the typical profile.
