The Role:
Our site in Bedford, MA is seeking a/an Process Engineer Intern to join our team for the Summer 2025 season. This assignment is intended to be 12-14 weeks in duration.
We are looking for a student to join the Membrane R&D group to support the continuous yield and performance improvement projects for membrane development. The group looks to make highly impactful changes on large-scale manufacturing processes. The student will test the feasibility of process changes, create designed experiments, and make process recommendations. The ideal candidate has interests in R&D development, manufacturing operations, and working in lab environments.
What You’ll Do:
Potential projects may include:
• Assess membrane properties across multiple test methods and multiple membrane types.
• Complete measurement system analysis on new testers for membrane.
• Characterize membrane properties. Recommend what process changes result in best membrane performance.
• Assess impact of development improvement changes on membrane properties.
• Look for improvements in new membrane test methods and assist in qualification of new test methods.
General daily tasks:
• Test new ideas for improving membrane properties
• Prepare designed experiments and review with stakeholders
• Execute on designed experiments. Complete analysis and present findings to group
• Test membrane to characterize performance
• Build experimental set-ups
• Develop statistical skills
• Contribute to brainstorming sessions
• Consider how bench top experiment findings can be used in manufacturing-scale processes.
• Make recommendations and depending on feasibility, work with operations to evaluate on manufacturing processes.

• Data-driven and hands-on approach
• Proficient in Excel.
• Ability to complete tasks in timely manner.
• Working towards a degree in chemical, mechanical or similar engineering

Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:
• Desired Major: Chemical Engineering preferred, will consider mechanical engineering, material science engineering, or similar
• Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program with a graduation date of December 2025 or later
