Print Production Sales Executive 


Position Profile

The Print Technology Executive Federal is directly responsible for selling the full suite of Ricoh’s solutions portfolio, Hardware, Software and Professional Services. The PTE will sell into a pre-defined account base consisting of both medium and large Federal clients to analyze, formulate a sales strategy, close and implement all our CIP/OP technology. To be successful the PTE must be focused to growing Ricoh market share within the assigned geographic territory.


Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supplies product information to selected customers in an assigned territory and/or arranges for business analyses of customer’s business communication requirements and develops benchmark demonstrations, proposals and value propositions that exceeds customers’ requirements resulting in the development of new customers and retention of existing accounts by applying a consultative approach to Federal Department of Defense, Department of Veteran Affairs, and Civilian organizations.
  • Is responsible for assessments, technology recommendations and sales of our CIP/OP technology, Software and services. 
  • The PTE is also responsible for the strategy of our managed print program which includes color management, consulting, wide-format, remote monitoring, application management and our platform strategy with IOT. 
  • Organizes and implements post-sale delivery and implementation of RICOH solutions at customer locations.  Acts as primary point of contact for all sales paperwork.
  • Proactively develops new customer contacts, review leads, participates in customers’ business communication strategy, planning and delivery of RICOH solutions. 
  • Engages in strategic planning with customer base; proactively identifies, evaluates and formulates action plans for at-risk customers.
  • Meets or exceeds revenue and gross profit expectations.
  • Coordinates cross-functional sales activity and manages team processes.
  • Promote products and represent company at off-site customer meetings.
  • Maintain records of all account activity within sales database.
  • Identify contacts in accounts and conduct strategic calls.
  • Serves as first line of contact with customers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Certifications)

Typically Required:

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 5 years of successful business-to-business sales experience; to include 2 years of selling experience in Federal Department of Defense, Department of Veteran Affairs, and Civilian organizations or State and Local Government entities. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • In depth knowledge of sales methodologies and processes in a matrixed environment with Federal Department of Defense, Department of Veteran Affairs, and Civilian organizations.
  • Knowledge of graphics arts, print for pay and commercial print industries.
  • In-depth knowledge of technology, connectivity and selling complex solutions.
  • Strong negotiation, written and oral communication and presentation skills with Federal Department of Defense, Department of Veteran Affairs, and Civilian organizations.
  • Strong interpersonal, time management and self-motivational skills.
  • In depth business acumen and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work with or lead diverse teams to formulate account strategy.
  • In depth knowledge of industry products and services 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and foster key relationships with contacts outside of the sales function or across line of businesses to formulate successful account strategies.
  • Ability to analyze complex data from multiple sources and correlate to identify issues and propose solutions.
  • Proficient computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).

Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Demands

  • Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
  • Work is mostly sedentary, but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs. (e.g., papers, books, files and small parts, etc.).
  • Requires moderate dexterity; regular application of basic skills (calculator, keyboard, hand tools, etc.).
  • Requires daily customer site visits whose locations may or may not be serviced by public transportation.
