Principal Technical Account Manager, FA&D

Location: Remote, USA

Overview:
The Principal Technical Account Manager (TAM) is responsible for providing strategic technical leadership to ensure successful acquisition, implementation, adoption, and satisfaction with PTC Solutions for our most well-known FA&D customers. TAMs manage strategic customer engagements, lead validation events, align success readiness, and collaborate with PTC sales teams, and partners, to drive engagement strategies and successful outcomes across the entire customer lifecycle. They contribute to revenue growth by identifying new opportunities across software, services, and education sales, demonstrating deep technical knowledge of PTC’s product suite to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Engagements and Validation – Qualify and validate technical requirements ensuring solution fit and implementation plans are aligned to the customer’s needs and strategic priorities.

Customer Relationship Management – Manage customer relationships, advocating for customer interests and addressing issues promptly to maintain high satisfaction and loyalty.

Technical Leadership and Sales Support – Lead technical validation aspects of sales opportunities, demonstrating deep product knowledge and industry expertise to drive successful engagements and technical closure.

Business Development and Revenue Growth – Drive adoption of PTC solutions, identify new opportunities, and collaborate with internal teams to expand software usage and drive ARR growth.

Trusted Advisor/Advocacy – Provide expert business and technical advice based on deep industry, market, PTC, and enterprise transformation knowledge. Foster enthusiasm, advocate for products, and gather/share customer feedback to Product Teams.

Account Planning and Management – Develop strategic Account Plans and manage customer projects, including complex implementations.

Customer Enablement – Facilitate the onboarding of new customers to the relevant PTC solution.

Performance and Business Reviews – Conduct regular business reviews, reinforce ROI, and identify innovative solutions for customer needs and strategic priorities.

Qualifications:

  • US Citizen able to support Federal, Aerospace & Defense accounts
  • Minimum 3-5 years specializing in Federal, Aerospace and Defense industries
  • SFDC, Gainsight, MEDDIC and/or Command of the Message (COM/COS) Sales methodology
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and persuasion skills
  • Enterprise Software, Implementation & Governance knowledge
  • Product Development, Engineering, IT, Manufacturing, and Service process knowledge desirable
  • 15+ years of experience as a technical SME supporting an enterprise software solution used in discrete manufacturing such as CAD, PLM, ALM, and SLM.
  • PTC Solutions knowledge and experience preferred
  • Educational: University Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of time

PTC carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, which include a candidate’s background and experience, in determining salary for a position. Compensation will vary based on these factors, but PTC anticipates the salary range for this position to be between $145,000- $165,000. The actual pay may be lower or higher depending on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and location and will also include the opportunity to earn a discretionary bonus. Additionally, every PTC employee has the opportunity to become a PTC shareholder through our employee share purchase program which allows employees to purchase discounted PTC stock and, for eligible roles, an equity grant. Subject to the terms and conditions of PTC’s benefits programs, employees may be eligible for medical, dental and vision insurance, paid time off and sick leave policies, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) contributions and employer match, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability coverage and a generous commuter subsidy.
