Job Description:

At Remitly, we believe everyone deserves the freedom to access, move, and manage their money wherever life takes them. Since 2011, we've tirelessly delivered on our promise to customers sending money globally, providing secure, simple, and reliable ways to manage their money, ensuring true peace of mind. Whether it's supporting loved ones back home, growing a business across continents, or pursuing new opportunities abroad, we're not just here to move money— we're here to move our global customers forward.
We're looking for builders, reimaginers, and global thinkers who want to work at the intersection of technology, trust, and transformation. If that’s you and you're ready to do the most meaningful work of your career—we invite you to join over 2,800 passionate Remitlians worldwide who are united by our vision to transform lives with trusted financial borders.

About the Role:

As a Principal Product Manager on the GMM team, you will own critical parts of our money movement platform; the systems that enable Remitly to move billions of dollars per year instantly across borders. You’ll partner with a dedicated engineering team, collaborate closely with product peers, and work cross-functionally with Operations, Treasury, Compliance, and Partnerships to deliver best-in-class payments and disbursements capabilities.

This role will focus on increasing efficiency, improving reliability, and enhancing the performance of our payments and payout systems. You’ll operate in a complex, highly regulated, and globally distributed environment, requiring both deep product craft and strong stakeholder alignment skills.

You Will:

  • Define a clear product vision and multi-quarter strategic roadmap for your portfolio, aligned to company-level goals and the GMM strategy.

  • Lead through ambiguity, identifying the biggest opportunities for impact and aligning diverse stakeholders around a shared plan.

  • Drive measurable improvements in cost efficiency, transaction speed, and network reliability, ensuring we scale sustainably as volumes grow.

  • Partner with engineering to deliver high-quality, high-availability systems that meet or exceed SLAs for uptime and performance.

  • Own end-to-end product lifecycle: discovery, requirements, design collaboration, development, testing, launch, and ongoing optimization.

  • Use data and analytics to identify bottlenecks, prioritize enhancements, and validate impact.

  • Manage trade-offs between speed, cost, reliability, and compliance in a fast-moving environment.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in product management, with at least 4 years owning complex, high-scale platform or infrastructure products in fintech, payments, or related industries.

  • Proven ability to define and deliver on long-term product visions while managing short-term priorities.

  • Strong technical fluency; you can engage deeply with engineers on architecture, APIs, and system design.

  • Analytical and data-driven mindset, with experience building KPIs, dashboards, and measurement frameworks.

  • Experience formulating, communicating, and implementing a multi-year platform strategy.

  • Experience leading the delivery of product features from requirements gathering to development, through to launch and user adoption.

Our Benefits:

  • Flexible paid time off
  • Health, dental, and vision + 401k plan with company matching
  • Paid parental, medical, military and family care leave
  • Mental Health & Family Forming Benefits
  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)
  • Continuing education and travel benefits

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
