About the Role

CloudZero is growing fast. Our customer base is expanding, the data challenges we're solving are getting more complex, and the platform is scaling to match. As a Principal Product Manager for Agentic Systems, you'll own some of the hardest product problems at CloudZero: translating noisy financial and operational signals into trusted, explainable, and safe recommendations or actions that engineers and finance teams can act on with confidence.

This is real systems product work at scale, not a stakeholder management role or a roadmap shuffling job. You'll work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, data orchestration, automation, and human-in-the-loop decision-making, shaping how CloudZero evolves from insight delivery toward intelligent action. You'll define when a system should observe, recommend, require approval, or act autonomously, and you'll build the trust frameworks that make that spectrum safe and usable.

This role is ideal for a PM who thrives on deep systems thinking, prefers owning one complex problem end-to-end over managing teams, and measures career growth by problem difficulty and impact, not org size.


What You'll Do

Agentic Product Strategy & Problem Definition

  • Own the vision, strategy, and multi-quarter roadmap for CloudZero's agentic and automated decision systems

  • Identify high-impact opportunities to translate financial signals (spend anomalies, budgets, forecasts, unit economics) and operational signals (usage, performance, configuration) into clear recommendations or automated actions

  • Define when systems should observe, recommend, require human approval, or act autonomously

  • Explicitly model trust, safety, blast radius, rollback, and auditability in all designs

  • Partner with customers, prospects, and internal experts (FinOps, Engineering, Finance) to validate where automation creates value and where it creates risk

Systems Design & Execution

  • Lead end-to-end product development for complex, system-level workflows

  • Write clear, precise product requirements and specifications for signal ingestion and normalization, prioritization and decision logic, human-in-the-loop controls, and explanations, confidence signals, and guardrails

  • Partner deeply with engineering on architectural and technical tradeoffs, balancing correctness, latency, scalability, and user trust

  • Collaborate with experience design to ensure agentic behavior is understandable, predictable, and usable, not opaque or magical

  • Drive iterative delivery with explicit success criteria, learning plans, and rollback strategies

Customer Trust, Validation & Enablement

  • Engage directly with enterprise customers to validate where automation is welcomed, where explainability is required, and where human approval is non-negotiable

  • Support pre-sales and post-sales conversations around intelligent automation, including demos, roadmap discussions, and risk assessments

  • Partner with product marketing and sales engineering to clearly articulate what the system does, what it does not do, and why users should trust it

  • Act as the internal subject-matter expert on CloudZero's automation and agentic capabilities for both internal teams and strategic customers

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as the connective tissue between platform engineering, data engineering, design, security, and customer-facing teams

  • Communicate complex system behavior and tradeoffs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Influence without authority; align teams around shared outcomes, not just shipped features

  • Mentor peers and cross-functional partners through technical product decision-making

What You Bring
  • 5–8+ years of experience as a Product Manager building B2B SaaS products in technically complex domains

  • Strong product craft, including writing detailed PRDs, specs, and decision documents, and translating ambiguous problems into well-scoped, testable solutions

  • Experience owning products involving automation, orchestration, or decision systems, such as infrastructure or DevOps tooling, data orchestration or pipeline management, observability and operational analytics, or security and remediation workflows

  • Comfort working closely with engineers on system behavior, edge cases, and failure modes

  • Experience designing workflows where trust, correctness, and false positives matter

  • Demonstrated ability to own a complex product area end-to-end and ship outcomes, not just capabilities

Bonus If You Have...
  • Experience with FinOps, cloud cost management, or cloud infrastructure platforms

  • Familiarity with AWS/GCP/Azure billing and usage data, data pipelines and orchestration frameworks, or IaC and CI/CD concepts

  • Background in data engineering, DevOps, SRE, or systems engineering prior to PM

  • Comfort analyzing telemetry, logs, or metrics and reasoning about system performance and tradeoffs

  • Experience working with enterprise customers in high-stakes or regulated environments

  • Exposure to AI/ML-enabled products, especially where explainability and control are required
