About the Role
As a Principal Software Engineer, you are a technical heavyweight within the Commerce organization. You are the go-to person for tackling our most complex engineering challenges and building frontend systems that reach hundreds of millions of users. You work at the sharp end of implementation, bridging the gap between sophisticated data and intuitive user interfaces. While you are a core part of the team, you operate with a high level of technical independence to leverage AI-augmented workflows and deliver high-impact code at an unprecedented pace.

Design Integration: Partner closely with designers to translate creative visions into elegant, functional code, maintaining a "scrappy" mindset to solve frontend constraints.
Hands-on Problem Solving: Tackle the squad's most difficult technical bugs and performance bottlenecks, delivering elegant and user-friendly engineering solutions.
Technical Guidance: Act as a senior technical resource for the squad, sharing expertise in modern frameworks and experimenting with emerging AI tools to improve collective output.
Product & Design Leadership: Proactively partner with Product Managers and Designers, providing strong technical and product opinions, and taking ownership of the end-to-end user experience and design integrity.
Minimum Qualifications

CS Fundamentals: Strong foundation in computer science, including data structures, algorithms, and clean software design.
AI-Forward Mindset & LLM Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in applying Large Language Model (LLM) technologies and AI-assisted development tools to dramatically accelerate velocity and ensure high-quality code. Must have a strong, positive, and curious outlook on the future of AI in engineering.
Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment with a focus on empathy and collective success.
