About the Role

As a Principal Software Engineer, you'll lead architectural decisions, write code, and solve complex technical problems while driving collaboration across teams to ensure successful outcomes. You'll be a mentor and thought leader, flexing between hands-on coding and high-level strategic leadership. Your Area of Focus
  • Establish Deep product and technology knowledge.

  • Partner across multiple teams to drive successful outcomes.
  • Actively review architecture & technical approach, ensuring organizational alignment. 
  • Provide tangible and actionable technical feedback to engineers.
Your Professional Qualifications
  • 12+ years of software engineering experience. 
  • 8+ years of technical leadership experience
  • Languages: Python, Java, PHP, JavaScript
  • Frameworks: Vue, React, Flask, SpringBoot
  • Databases: MySQL, Oracle, Postgres, DynamoDB, Firestore
  • Cloud: AWS, GCP
  • Tenacity and creativity to solve difficult problems with a focus on our customers.
  • Flex time spent coding from 10% to 90% as needed by team(s).
  • Strong technical mentor and sounding board for teams.
  • Desire to blaze the trail on less-glorious engineering tasks that are important to the business.
  • Technical acumen and ability to partner garnishes respect from engineering team members and leaders.
  • Continually identify opportunities to improve software and propose plans and options to leadership for addressing them.
  • Leader in establishing best practices and standards for the engineering organization.
  • Communicate complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to perform deep technical assessments of existing and potential new technologies.

Your specific compensation is thoughtfully determined by your experience, qualifications, the specific requirements of the role, and your Geo Zone. Our geo-zone system ensures your pay is competitive for your location, recognizing varying costs of labor across regions.

Our four geo zones are designed to reflect this:
Zone 1: National Average
Zone 2: Moderately Higher Cost Regions
Zone 3: High-Cost Regions
Zone 4: Lower-Cost Regions

Beyond base compensation, Tebra offers eligible employees the opportunity for variable pay and a robust benefits package, reflecting our commitment to your overall well-being. In compliance with California pay transparency laws, the specific compensation range applicable to your Geo Zone will be shared during your initial talent screen.
