The Principal Data Product Manager will drive strategy and operations for a data ecosystem, manage the product roadmap, and enhance cross-functional collaboration across various departments while ensuring timely delivery of projects.
About the Role
Health-E Commerce is seeking a Principal Data Product Manager – Platform & Ops to help shape the future of our modern data ecosystem. As a senior member of our centralized Data & Analytics team, you will drive strategy and operations for a growing organization, co-own the product roadmap, and ensure our data platform delivers scalable, reliable solutions that power business growth.
Reporting directly to the VP of Product and collaborating closely with the SVP of Data Science & Analytics, you will play a critical role in defining priorities, improving processes, and enabling cross-functional collaboration across Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Product. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology (especially data and AI), business strategy, and operational excellence.
Specific responsibilities:- Strategy & Roadmap: Partner with SVP and Data team leaders to define vision and strategy; maintain and communicate the product roadmap; ensure alignment between strategic priorities and sprint planning.
- Prioritization & Delivery: Own intake and prioritization of requests; manage project pipeline; facilitate cross-functional meetings; guide business requirement development and ensure timely delivery. Partner with data engineering and analytics to deliver key projects.
- Process & Governance: Lead sprint planning and backlog management; co-author PRDs; establish documentation standards; support LOE estimation and release planning; implement best practices for agile workflows.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a key liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders; create forums for insights sharing; drive clarity and alignment across departments.
- Market & Vendor Research: Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies; support vendor selection and contractor onboarding.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in product management, strategy & operations, or technical program management (experience in data or analytics strongly preferred).
- Strong working knowledge with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, BigQuery, Microsoft Fabric).
- Strong working knowledge of data science and advanced analytics methodologies and implementation process. Exposure to MLOps or GenAI solutions shipped to production is a strong plus.
- Strong experience working in agile methodologies and using tools like Jira.
- Proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- SQL proficiency is a strong plus.
- Experience in e-commerce, marketing, or digital health is highly desirable.
- BA/BS required. MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
At Health-E Commerce, our goal is to provide an offer that supports growth potential within the role and allows for future salary progression. Final compensation is evaluated on various factors which include but aren’t limited to experience, skills, internal equity among peers, and geographic location.
- Compensation: $150,000 - $185,000
- Discretionary Annual Bonus Eligibility: Up to 15%
