Business Analyst – Billing (P&C)

Job Overview
The Business Analyst – Billing (P&C) is an experienced, client‑facing role that acts as a key liaison between insurance carriers and software delivery teams. The ideal candidate blends deep Property & Casualty billing domain knowledge with a strong understanding of modern insurance billing platforms, helping clients realize business value while staying as close as possible to out‑of‑the‑box product capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead requirements discovery, analysis, and documentation for P&C billing processes, rules, products, and integrations.
- Review client documentation and current‑state processes, clearly identifying impacts, risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities.
- Configure the billing system to fit client requirements and recommend solutions that maximize use of standard product capabilities while minimizing customization.
- Perform gap analysis for new requirements, support scope definition/estimation, and clarify questions for global delivery and product teams.
- Collaborate with product, configuration, technical, and client stakeholders to design and validate the end‑to‑end billing solution, including batch jobs, outputs, and interfaces.
- Maintain requirements traceability from business needs through design, configuration, and testing, ensuring alignment across stakeholders.
- Define and/or review test scenarios, test cases, and test plans; support SIT/UAT, defect triage, and regression testing to confirm business needs are met.
- Act as a functional SME and Product Owner, providing backlog input, accepting stories, and delivering training and knowledge transfer to clients and internal teams.
- Support cutover, go‑live, and post‑go‑live stabilization activities for the billing workstream as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with geographically distributed teams and client stakeholders across time zones, adjusting work hours as needed to support workshops, clarifications, and project ceremonies.
Skills and Competencies
- 8+ years of experience in a strategic Business Analyst role on large‑scale IT projects, with at least 4+ years focused on P&C Billing and insurance billing systems.
- Strong Property & Casualty insurance domain knowledge, including billing, payments, fees, refunds, dunning/collections, and related regulations across states/jurisdictions.
- Proven ability to elicit, analyze, and document requirements (user stories, use cases, process flows, functional specs) and translate them into practical solution designs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills; comfortable working with both business and technical audiences.
- Hands‑on experience working in Agile / SAFe environments, including backlog management, estimation, and collaboration with distributed/global teams.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on quality, traceability, and on‑time delivery.
- Experience with Majesco Billing or other enterprise insurance billing platforms is a strong plus.
Work Experience
- Overall 8+ years of experience in Business Analysis, with at least 4+ years focused on P&C Billing.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

Majesco is committed to equal pay and transparency. The annual salary range for this position is $95,000 to $125,000.
