DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
Technology supports a diverse community of GBH’ers working in Broadcasting, Content Creation, Education, Digital, Assistive Technologies, Local News and Administrative roles. Roughly 80 staff work in 6 teams within the Department and the team is committed to creative problem solving and respectful candor. We like to build, improve, launch, automate and repair.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Post Production Systems Specialist supports video editing technology at GBH and is responsible for leading post-production troubleshooting and resolutions of hardware, software, and network issues as well as providing support for applications, operating system and hardware problems when issues are escalated to them. The Post Production Systems Specialist supports cross-unit collaboration with production units across the Foundation. The job supports video production where schedule flexibility is necessary as production work demands.
RESPONSIBILITIES
● Act as a liaison and project manager for Technology and Production Group joint projects
● Work with individual production units to effectively integrate and improve technological needs
● Manage, support and design video editing workflows across the organization
● Work closely with Post Systems specialists and help train other team members on Post Production systems and best practices to broaden cross-training on support team
● Work closely with the Systems and Network teams to assist with all aspects of maintaining and expanding the network and system infrastructure at GBH
● Involved in implementing, operating, and supporting all GBH’s video editing systems which may include storage, editing, production, billing, and transcoding
- Serve as secondary contact for Post Production vendors
● Serve as primary or secondary administrator on several systems and will help users to engage with those systems as well as managing planned changes and improvements of those applications
- Build effective relationships with customers, management and technical teams
● Identify and mitigate risk, manage change and work in a fast-paced environment

● Proficient in office and Video Edit / NLE Platform Experience (AVID Media Composer/Adobe Premiere)
● Knowledge of video editing storage experience, Nexis/Media Central and/or EditShare
● Experience optimizing and troubleshooting systems/programs
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required. 3+ years of increasing responsibility within a multi-location or matrixed organization.
