There are NO limits to your career: come shape the future and be part of a truly unique global culture at OutSystems!

OutSystems is how regulated enterprises modernize legacy systems and run the custom apps and AI agents they trust. As Lead Platform Operations Expert, you set the standard for how those systems run in production. You'll partner with our largest customers to design, deploy, and optimize OutSystems on public cloud and on premises infrastructure, and lead their toughest engagements until their teams can run the platform on their own. This is a senior individual contributor role. You'll mentor other experts but won't have direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the technical strategy for large, multiregion OutSystems infrastructures on both generations of the platform, from initial design through production:
    • OutSystems 11: Windows Server, IIS, and SQL Server or Oracle, self managed on premises or in the customer's cloud.
    • OutSystems Developer Cloud (ODC): our cloud native platform built on Kubernetes and Linux containers. This includes ODC Self-Hosted, a hybrid model where OutSystems runs the platform services and customers run Test and Production in their own Kubernetes clusters (OpenShift, AKS, EKS, or GKE), backed by PostgreSQL and a service stack that includes Istio, Gloo Edge, Flux CD, HashiCorp Vault, and OpenTelemetry.
  • Design and review secure, highly available architectures covering compute, web servers, network segmentation, load balancers, firewalls, identity, databases, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery.
  • Lead troubleshooting of complex issues across the full stack, and take charge when a business critical system is at risk.
  • Move customers from manual platform maintenance to autonomous operations, using observability, AIOps, and automation to predict and prevent failures before users notice them.
  • Help customers run AI agents safely in production, including private LLM hosting, secure AI gateways, model endpoint control, and data residency.
  • Build repeatable practices with Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, configuration management, and scripting, and turn them into playbooks the whole team can reuse.
  • Coach customer teams and OutSystems colleagues so customers can operate the platform confidently on their own.
  • Bring field tested requirements to Product Management and Engineering to shape how the platform deploys, scales, and runs AI workloads.

Salary Determination: Our salary range is based on industry standards, company performance, and market conditions. We offer competitive compensation packages to attract and retain top talent.

In determining salary ranges, we consider factors such as:

Company Performance: Financial performance, revenue growth, and budget allocation

Job Requirements: Skills, experience, and qualifications necessary for the role

Geographic Location: Cost of living, market conditions, and industry standards in our region

$131,750 - $160,425 Base Salary

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 8+ years in infrastructure, cloud, or platform operations, with at least 3 of those years leading technical teams or engagements.
  • Production experience with both Kubernetes (networking, storage, and RBAC) and Windows Server with IIS. Deep expertise in one and solid working knowledge of the other is enough.
  • Strong command of networking, load balancing, firewalls, TLS, OIDC identity providers, and security hardening, plus production administration of SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
  • A track record of designing high availability and disaster recovery for business critical systems.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Flux CD, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Clear, confident communication with customers. You can walk an engineer and a CIO through the same decision in one meeting, and you see hard problems through to the end.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with OutSystems, ideally with an OutSystems certification.
  • Experience with OpenTelemetry and APM tools such as Dynatrace, New Relic, or Splunk, and practical exposure to AIOps, private LLM hosting, or secure AI gateway management.
  • Cloud, Kubernetes, or security certifications, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud architect certifications, CKA, Red Hat OpenShift, or CISSP.
  • A consulting or professional services background with customers in regulated industries such as banking, insurance, healthcare, or government.
More about OutSystems

OutSystems is a leading AI Development Platform built for the enterprise. Global organizations trust OutSystems to rapidly build mission-critical apps and agents, modernize legacy processes with agentic systems, and govern their entire AI portfolio across complex regulatory environments, all on one unified platform.

As the future becomes agentic, our customers need us now more than ever. While AI has opened the door to extraordinary possibilities, most large organizations find themselves stuck on one side of the "enterprise gap" because AI by itself doesn't solve their complex use cases and business challenges. We provide the tools for teams of any size to deliver high-quality, reliable AI solutions that drive real business impact.

Our customers are some of the world's most recognizable brands across diverse industries— such as Toyota, Heineken, Bosch, KeyBank, and UCLA—who trust OutSystems to deliver ROI and transformational impact.

Consistently recognized as a leader by top analyst firms Gartner, IDC and Forrester, OutSystems continues to shape the future of enterprise software development in the agentic era. We are proud to be named a leader in more than 100 categories on G2, including #1 in Customer Satisfaction in Enterprise Low Code Development, and most recently as a leader in AI Agent Building in the G2 Spring 2026 Reports.
