 The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Performance Marketing Creative Lead (Part-Time Contractor) to support the development and execution of high-performing creative across paid and owned channels. This is a hands-on, execution-heavy engagement focused on producing, testing, and optimizing creative that drives measurable results.

This contract will focus at the intersection of design, storytelling, and performance data. You’ll be expected to deliver scroll-stopping ads and short-form video, analyze performance, and iterate quickly based on what works.

This is not a strategy-only, media buying, or people-management contract. The contractor should be comfortable personally designing and editing creative assets.

This Contract Is a Great Fit If You:
  • Love digging into ad performance metrics and creative testing

  • Know what makes paid social ads stop the scroll and convert

  • Believe great creative is defined by results, not opinions

  • Enjoy rapid testing, iteration, and optimization

  • Want flexibility while working on meaningful, growth-focused campaigns

What You’ll Do
  • Concept, design, and execute performance-driven creative for paid social, display, video, email, and landing pages
  • Independently produce static ads and short-form video for platforms including Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and Google Display
  • Translate performance data and A/B test results into clear creative iterations
  • Collaborate with internal paid acquisition stakeholders to align creative with audiences, offers, and funnel goals
  • Ensure creative aligns with brand guidelines while adapting to platform-specific best practices
  • Coordinate and collaborate with designers or freelancers as needed
  • Stay current on emerging ad formats, creative trends, and platform changes, proactively testing new approaches
  • Ensure all creative deliverables meet high standards for performance, quality, and clarity.

What We’re Looking For
  • 8–10 years of experience in performance marketing creative, growth design, or digital advertising (DTC or subscription experience preferred)
  • Proven track record of building and optimizing creative that drives results (CTR, CVR, ROAS)
  • Deep understanding of platform-specific creative best practices for Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and Google
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and/or professional video editing tools (Final Cut, DaVinci, CapCut Pro, etc.)
  • Comfortable working directly with performance data and ad platform reporting
  • Strong visual storytelling, copy editing, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Self-directed, reliable, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
Portfolio

We strongly encourage applicants to share a portfolio or work samples demonstrating performance-oriented creative, such as:

  • Short-form paid video ads
  • Static paid social assets
  • Motion graphics
  • A/B-tested creative variations tied to measurable outcomes

Engagement Details
  • Type: Part-time, remote contractor role (1099).
  • Hours: Flexible. Contractor will attend check-ins as reasonably requested to support project delivery.
  • Duration: Initial contract term for 3 months, with option to renew based on performance and business needs.
  • Compensation: Hourly or monthly retainer, based on experience and scope.
  • Contractor will provide their own tools and equipment and is responsible for all applicable taxes.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
