The Team:

As the backbone of organizational agility, the Finance and HR teams drive our ability to move swiftly and decisively. We provide critical insights that empower teammates to thrive, offering unparalleled support and data-driven insights. At the intersection of people and numbers, our mission is to ensure everyone has the resources they need to succeed.

About the Role:

We're looking for an experienced HR operations professional to be the operational backbone of our People team as we scale. Reporting to the Sr Director of People, you'll build systems from scratch, own compliance and audits, manage employee lifecycle processes in partnership with Eastern European Sr Human Resources and Administration Manager, and ensure our global remote workforce has seamless HR support.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on building systems (not just maintaining them), loves solving operational puzzles, and wants significant ownership without needing their hand held. You should be comfortable operating independently, making sound judgment calls, and knowing when to escalate and collaborate.

What You’ll Do:

HRIS & Systems Operations

Serve as Rippling power user- build workflows from scratch for onboarding, offboarding, PTO, promotions, comp changes and more!
Conduct comprehensive Rippling audits: permissions, custom fields, data structure, reporting, data accuracy, and security compliance
Design and implement annual compensation cycles in Rippling (merit, promotion, bonus processes)
Partner with Payroll Associate on backend admin and payroll accounting
Protect and manage highly confidential employee data with integrity and discretion
Document and refine processes to create clarity and consistency across the employee lifecycle
Build people dashboards and reports for leadership and managers
Identify automation opportunities to eliminate manual work and troubleshoot complex system issues

Benefits & Leave Administration

Manage relationships with insurance brokers and support annual benefits renewal (logistics, vendor coordination, compliance) including open enrollment
Administer leaves of absence (FMLA, state leaves, parental leave, accommodations)
Field day-to-day benefits questions (basic to moderate complexity; route complex cases to broker)

Employee Lifecycle, Onboarding & Offboarding

Act as key point of contact for employees and managers on complex HR policy questions, benefits eligibility, and compliance matters requiring judgment
Provide operational support and systems infrastructure for employee lifecycle processes globally and in partnership with Eastern European Sr Human Resources and Administration Manager
Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes and workflows, ensuring smooth employee lifecycle transitions and system accuracy

Global Mobility & International Support

Coordinate employee relocations and state-to-state moves
Support international transfers and Remote.com (EOR) coordination
      Manage ad-hoc mobility situations

Compliance, Audits & Policy Management

Lead audit coordination as primary point of contact (SOC2, workers comp, 401(k), financial, benefits audits)
Draft and update HR policies based on Sr Director's direction and employee handbook maintenance
Monitor state and federal compliance requirements
Support I-9 compliance and other employment verifications

What We’re Looking For:

Required Experience:

4-5 years of HR operations or HR generalist experience, ideally in high-growth or remote-first companies
Strong HRIS experience with demonstrated ability to learn new systems quickly (Rippling experience a major plus; BambooHR, Gusto, Workday, or similar also valued)
Experience supporting global operations and compliance initiatives
Exposure to leave administration, audits, or global mobility
High potential for growth and independent operation

Bonus Points:

      Rippling power user or certification
Experience at high-growth companies (50-500 employees)
      Global/remote workforce experience
Scrappy, resilient doer with a bias for action- you figure things out and build on your own momentum.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
