The Optical Design Engineer is responsible for working within a team of engineers to in development of free space and fiber optical beam delivery devices for high power fiber based lasers.
Duties:
- Support of New Product Development and existing products
- Optical Analysis of existing designs and new designs
- Tolerance Studies
- Troubleshooting and Testing of new optical designs. Hands on Laboratory work.
- BS in Engineering or Physics. Optical Engineering preferred. Or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrate excellent technical writing skills and the ability to provide high quality engineering presentations, reports, and other documents.
- Strong communication skills required for interaction within group, with internal customers, and R&D
Experience in One or More Areas a Plus:
- Lens Modeling and Design, Zemax preferred
- Ray Tracing Software
- Computer Programming, scripting
