The Optical Design Engineer is responsible for working within a team of engineers to in development of free space and fiber optical beam delivery devices for high power fiber based lasers.

 

Duties:

  • Support of New Product Development and existing products
  • Optical Analysis of existing designs and new designs
  • Tolerance Studies
  • Troubleshooting and Testing of new optical designs.  Hands on Laboratory work.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BS in Engineering or Physics. Optical Engineering preferred.  Or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrate excellent technical writing skills and the ability to provide high quality engineering  presentations, reports, and other documents. 
  • Strong communication skills required for interaction within group, with internal customers, and R&D

Experience in One or More Areas a Plus:

  • Lens Modeling and Design, Zemax preferred
  • Ray Tracing Software
  • Computer Programming, scripting
Pay Range

MA: $74,956 - $99,316
