About the Role:

Streamline, oversee, and manage the contracting and compliance process at Panorama. Lead our team of contract specialists in reviewing a high volume of client contracts and data sharing agreements each year. You will perform a range of duties including setting strategic and operational priorities related to contracting, supporting the team with negotiating contract terms, and liaising with cross-functional teams to make our processes more efficient.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support members of the contracts team to review a high volume of agreements and meet client deadlines
  • Set and achieve strategic priorities and goals for the contracts team while leading 1-1s and stepback conversations with direct reports
  • Build the contracts team, including drafting job descriptions, developing interview guides, managing hiring process for future roles, and developing levels 
  • Negotiate contract terms directly with clients and make decisions about certain contract terms and obtain stakeholder/leadership approval where necessary by clearly explaining and evaluating legal risk, compliance with federal and state regulations, and business impact
  • Oversee the process for compliance forms and vendor forms, as part of procurement processes and RFPs
  • Advise the Director or Revenue Operations and other managers on contracting strategy
  • Support contract specialists redline and negotiate changes to terms and conditions for non-standard contracts and data sharing agreements 
  • Compare contracts to Salesforce to ensure data accuracy; identify common mistakes and proposing solutions/training for applicable teams
  • Liaise with Panorama’s leadership, finance, engineering, sales, client success, and people teams to ensure company compliance with federal, state, and international privacy and security laws
  • Manage cooperative purchasing relationships, documentation, and compliance 


Our Ideal Candidate Has:

  • 3+ years of experience as a manager in a role related to contracts, legal, or procurement
  • 5+ years of legal or paralegal experience, working directly with contracts, including independently redlining and negotiating both legal and commercial terms
  • Knowledge of procurement regulations and FERPA (or similar laws like GDPR)
  • Experience using and/or administering legal technology or contracting software
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teammates cross-functionally 
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and suggest solutions for inefficiencies in our contracting processes
  • Ability to clearly explain contract terminology and proposed changes to clients and internal staff in simple, everyday language
  • Ability to negotiate directly with clients to reach agreement on terms
  • Demonstrated experience being highly responsive, maintaining a client service-oriented attitude, and promptly communicating
  • Understanding of intellectual property, licensing, SaaS, privacy and other legal matters that arise in connection with commercial transactions

Bonus Points:

  • Relevant certifications pertaining to contracting or legal experience
  • K12 Education or ed-tech experience
  • Experience using Salesforce, Google Suite, and task management tools 

Panorama excitedly hosts two in-person "all team meetings" a year. All Panoramians attend and travel/hotels are provided. (Paused due to Covid)
