Merchandising Manager, Strategic Initiatives

In this role, you will oversee strategic merchandising initiatives in our Experiences business. You will work closely with cross-functional leaders to optimize supply, develop self-service tools, and execute strategic partnerships. You love to take on challenges that allow you to flex your creative and analytical skills. You’re a passionate advocate for the customer and seek to intimately understand their journey. You’re growth oriented with a never stop testing and iterating mindset. This is a remote role based in the United States.
What You'll Do
Serve as subject matter expert on internal and external supply trends and digital merchandising tools
Evaluate supply refinement and expansion opportunities
Partner with Analytics to define supply health metrics; monitor and distribute insights on ongoing basis
Partner with Machine Learning to optimize supply exposure and conversion
Partner with Product Management to build supply-related features and infrastructure
Partner with Engineering and Product Management to guide curation tool development/integration and identify high-impact surfaces for implementation
Serve as internal expert on discount code management system; identify opportunities to add/improve capabilities
Evaluate business impact associated with building/buying additional self-service tools
Partner with Business Development and Advertising to evaluate brand/media partnerships; identify cross-functional dependencies and serve as project manager for greenlit partnerships
Partner with Analytics and Finance to define and monitor success metrics for net new initiatives
Propose project ideas, support project roadmaps, create cross-functional processes, and promote documentation
Skills & Experience
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in merchandising, marketing, or an adjacency; preference for demonstrated success in ecommerce businesses
Ability to navigate and simplify ambiguity, invent and innovate, adapt and adjust
Strong presentation skills; high bar for visual design and storytelling
Strong business acumen
Experience working in a matrixed environment
Experience working directly with Marketing, Product Management, and Machine Learning teams
Passion for travel stories and understanding customer journeys
The salary range for this role is $95,000 to $130,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. An employee’s pay position within the wage range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. This compensation range may also be modified in the future.
