THE ROLE:
Merchandise Coordinator
The Merchandise Coordinator is responsible to gather and organize samples for the Boston Photo Studio production process. This role will be responsible for organizing samples and collecting information related to each photo shoot for the Styling Team. The Merchandise Coordinator will partner with our Shipping Coordinator on the inbound and outbound process, as well as assisting our Studio Producer with scheduling and studio production. Daily communication with Production teams including; Event Coordinators, Boutique Producers, Stylists, and the Studio Producer is essential to assess daily production needs and act on a quickly changing schedule. This position is located in Boston, MA and reports to the Studio Manager.
What you’ll accomplish…
Sample and Schedule Management
- Unpack, scan, tag, QA, organize samples for production
- Pull information for the Stylists for each shoot day off of Buyer Info Sheets
- Organize workload, gathering samples in advance of shoot day, verifying that all required merchandise is in studio and reviewing any time constraints with Studio Producer, Stylists, and Boutique Producers
- Working with the Boutique Producers, Studio Producer, and Styling team to track and care for samples throughout the whole process in order to maintain vendor packaging
- Responsible for merchandise prep including, but not limited to: steaming, un-packaging, and hanging women’s, men’s, and children’s garments
- Assist the Studio Producer on scheduling tasks and provides ample updates for the schedule
- Utilize best practices regarding merchandise handling and workflow using a Warehouse Management Systems and software. Merch app, Putty, Google docs, Microsoft Excel, Outlook
- Ensure all samples arrive on time for studio by working daily with the Boutique Producers and KY Warehouse team
Inbound and Pulling Responsibilities
- Receive shipments of requests from warehouse and vendors.
- Open shipments, hang, tag, scan and organize SKU’s location database.
- Account for items on schedule
- Create daily info sheet to be used by Styling Team
- Scan items to necessary locations(Studio, Outbound, etc.) as samples move throughout the process
Outbound Responsibilities
- Scan items from Studio to Outbound when shoot is completed
- Repackage, Inspect, and evaluate all product to ensure re-salability
- Responsible for all samples throughout full process in studio and shipping closet.
- Follow requirements for RTV and Owned process.

- Basic understanding of production studio pace, sample management and efficiency
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Background in retail, merchandising, studio production
- Strong communication skills and excellent ability to work with a wide variety of people
- Flexibility and patience with the ability to accommodate last minute additions to schedules and changes in direction
- Ability to work with a team to accomplish deadlines and production efficiency
- Strong time management skills
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office is necessary
- General interest in fashion and the desire to be a part of a creative team
