Executive Director, Career Collaborative
Career Collaborative, a non-profit whose mission is to teach underemployed adults with low-income jobs to build careers that transform their lives and strengthen their families, is looking for their next Executive Director. Since its founding in 1997, Career Collaborative has helped thousands of people in the Greater Boston Area by offering a comprehensive job-search and job-readiness course, individual job-search assistance, and a unique, 2 year post-employment career coaching program. The program has a dramatic impact on its participants each year.
Job Overview
As the Executive Director, you will employ both traditional and creative strategies to raise capital and energize communities to create real, sustainable growth for this important mission. You will be a resourceful, energetic, and innovative leader and contributor. This is a hands-on role for someone who will roll up their sleeves and get excited about making a difference in communities and lives.
Why this job is important:
Under the mentorship and direction of Art Papas, founder and CEO of Bullhorn, Inc., the Executive Director will be responsible for full ownership of the organization’s fundraising, program and finances. The Executive Director will be challenged with initiatives to grow the organization’s corporate sponsor base as well as its impact in the community by expanding program participation.
As the Executive Director of the Career Collaborative, a typical day might include focus on the following:
Community Impact
Recruiting at least 20 program participants per month by building relationships in the local Boston communities of Mattapan, Dorchester, Roxbury, and others to drive referrals.
Leading the program staff to drive better engagement, impact and efficiency.
Corporate Sponsorship & Fundraising
Building the organization’s sponsorship base by engaging new employers in the Boston business community who are willing to fund the program and hire its participants.
Planning and running events that engage both program participants and corporate sponsors.
Maintaining and expanding the organization’s base of philanthropic donors and foundations.
Finance & Operations
Overseeing the organization’s overall budget and expenses.
Lead the organization’s staff and operations.
