The Continuous Improvement Consultant is a trusted adviser to business leadership with a focus on strengthening our Lean practices, leading large cross-functional problem solving initiatives and driving breakthrough results.

The Continuous Improvement?Consultant will be expected to:

Manage/drive the organization's portfolio of complex, high-impact problems. This includes project definition, chartering, candidate selection, tracking and reporting.
Facilitate multi-day problem solving sessions using advanced problem solving tools & techniques.
Use judgment and experience to analyze business problems and make recommendations to help drive business results; influence senior leaders to both recognize these opportunities and take action to exploit them
Coach and develop the Continuous Improvement capabilities of leaders at all levels of the organization using the See-Do-Teach approach
Cultivate a network throughout the organization to build conviction for our Lean Business System by involving and supporting those affected and influencing key stakeholders across, up and down the organization.
Promote a culture of collaboration and teamwork across organizational boundaries
Promote and support CI best practice sharing and consistency across MassMutual

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree
5+ years' experience in Continuous Improvement related roles working with leadership teams
2+ years of experience in a Lean/Six Sigma environment
Proven track record for solving complex, cross-functional problems using advanced problem solving techniques, including Value Stream Improvement
Proven in applying change management frameworks, problem solving methods, data analysis, and project management
Ability to effectively influence both executive and front line leaders

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree, MBA or Advanced level degree
8+ years of experience in Continuous Improvement related roles working with leadership teams is preferred
Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt and/or Lean Certification (ASQ/Shingo)
Consulting background
Comfort presenting and facilitating at executive level
Models continuous improvement discipline and behaviors
Bias for action and track record of deploying complex projects with sustainable results
Passion for and demonstrated success coaching and developing others
Excels at fostering relationships
