Cricket Health is seeking a strategic and collaborative clinical leader to join our team in California as a Clinical or Medical Director. This role will grow, scale, and lead our strong multidisciplinary clinical care team across the assigned region and will ensure achievement of value based clinical performance. The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience in building high performing multi-disciplinary clinical teams as well as deep knowledge and experience in delivering value based care and clinical performance. We are looking for the clinical leader who wants to lead innovation in kidney care!

Primary Responsibilities: Clinical Leadership

  • Lead the successful recruitment, on-boarding, and training of top talent for Cricket’s multidisciplinary clinical team, to include but not limited to physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, pharmacists, registered dietitians, social workers, and health coaches
  • Assess performance and build individualized professional development and growth goals
  • Monitor clinician capacity and identify opportunities to improve productivity
  • Ensure the safe and appropriate staffing of all clinical roles, to cover operational service hours, including cross coverage for PTO or other absences
  • Inform updates to staffing compilation, ratios, and hiring needs
  • Ensure clinical team education on protocols, workflows, tools, and initiatives
  • Oversee the day to day delivery of clinical care 
  • Monitor and evaluate adherence to clinical protocols and clinical best practices
  • Identify opportunities to improve quality and/or efficiency of Cricket clinical protocols, workflows, tools, and initiatives
  • Build and lead management processes to ensure an environment where clinicians are empowered and inspired to deliver on our vision and core values
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations, laws, and policies that govern the provision of clinical care

Primary Responsibilities: Clinical Performance

  • Lead pre-implementation care management discovery with partner organizations to gain understanding of current processes and inform partnership collaboration strategies
  • Drive the development of workflows to ensure coordinated care between Cricket, our partners, and other in-market providers
  • Identify needs and collaborate on the development of new workflows or tools to ensure the successful delivery of Cricket’s value based models of care
  • Participate in the development and ongoing monitoring of clinical performance measures to ensure the successful achievement of clinical quality outcomes
  • Identify opportunities to improve clinical performance and lead the development and implementation of improvement plans
  • Identify opportunities for the development of innovative clinical delivery solutions to improve outcomes
  • Lead the development of experiments and pilots to test, study, and evaluate potential new solutions, including measurement methods and evaluation criteria
  • Communicate findings, regardless of outcomes, to foster the continual learning and process improvement of the organization

Required Qualifications:

  • Passionate about developing high performing, highly engaged, multidisciplinary clinical care teams that improve patient outcomes and advance the Cricket Health mission
  • Proven leadership building large, scaled, teams to deliver care to large patient populations across broad, diverse geographies
  • Direct experience in the development and successful delivery of value based models of care within complex healthcare delivery systems, including but not limited to Accountable Care Organizations, bundled payment programs, or other risk based, pay for performance programs
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and operations at various stages of completion, and ensure their successful completion
  • Ability to develop and deliver well defined goals and align team priorities to deliver them
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills working at all levels of the organization as well as with external organizations
  • Adept relationship development skills to work across departments with multiple different stakeholders
  • Strong aptitude for problem solving
  • Exceptional organizational abilities, with the ability to organize and prioritize competing priorities
  • Comfort working with technology platforms and the ability to learn new ones

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare delivery
  • 3+ years in a leadership role including the oversight of clinicians 
  • 2+ years of experience in adult chronic disease management or ambulatory care
  • 2+ years of experience in value based or risk based clinical care systems
  • A clinical degree in Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Dietetics, or Social Work 

Ideal Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare delivery
  • 5+ years in a leadership role, including the oversight of large clinician teams, plus management of remote teams
  • Experience in chronic kidney disease and/or end stage kidney disease 
  • 5+ years of experience in value based care or leading risk based clinical care arrangements or systems
  • A clinical degree in Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Dietetics, or Social Work, plus a degree in Healthcare Administration, Population Health, or similar
