THE VENUE

View Boston, which encompasses the top three floors of the Prudential Tower, will feature immersive experiential exhibits and a bistro on the 50th floor, an indoor/outdoor cocktail lounge with a 360-degree outdoor viewing deck on the 51st floor, and a double high (24-foot) indoor viewing space on the 52nd floor. THE ROLE

The Operations Manager is responsible for the daily oversight of facility operations to ensure exceptional guest experience and efficient back-of-house performance. The Operations Manager leads teams across the operations department, including guest services, maintenance, housekeeping, and event operations, while ensuring compliance with all building and safety standards. This role requires hands-on leadership, strong cross-functional coordination, and a sharp focus on operational excellence and staff development.

ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee day-to-day facility operations including guest services, maintenance, janitorial, ADA compliance, and event setup.
  • Lead and schedule part-time and full-time operations staff, ensuring proper payroll practices and shift coverage.
  • Execute and refine opening and closing procedures at the venue.
  • Hire, train, and manage supervisors and hourly staff; conduct performance reviews and enforce policies/procedures.
  • Maintain strong communication and collaboration with other departments and vendors to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Enforce all building codes, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, ADA, NFPA, etc.)
  • Lead and maintain fire/life safety and emergency preparedness training across the entire View Boston team.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues and guest concerns promptly.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) as scheduled.
  • Support preventative maintenance plans and vendor management to reduce downtime and ensure readiness for events.
  • Drive departmental SOP’s, quality control initiatives, and support budget management.
  • Assist with inventory, event changeovers, and support other business functions as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by View Boston management team.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends & ASM policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE     

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Facilities Management, Hospitality, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in venue operations, hospitality, or public attractions.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Exceptional managing compliance with OSHA, ADA, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Comfortable with irregular schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite; familiarity with Accesso & Revel is a plus.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage a high level of detail across multiple projects.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to maintain customer confidentiality and work well within a team environment.
  • Ability to balance internal priorities with client expectations.
