About the Opportunity

The International Business & Strategy (IB&S) Group of the D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University invites applications for an open non-tenure track faculty position to be located at the Boston, Massachusetts Campus of the university, with employment beginning in August 2024. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position with teaching, research, and service responsibilities. Appointment will be made at the Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor level, depending on qualifications and experience.

Summary of Responsibilities

The successful candidate will teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels in international business and/or related subjects; participate in service to the IB&S Group, D’Amore-McKim School of Business, Northeastern University, and the discipline; and develop an appropriate independent research program necessary to achieve and maintain AACSB qualification as a Scholarly Academic. The successful candidate will be able to teach courses covering topics in both international business and strategy. Preference will be given to candidates who are qualified to teach courses related to cross-cultural management and cultural literacy/agility.

Responsibilities based on %:

Identify the most important job duties (maximum of 5) using no more than 3-4 concise sentences. Indicate the typical percent of time required for each job duty; the total percent of time must equal 100%. Begin with the most important duty.

The major responsibilities are:
 

  • teaching in our undergraduate and graduate programs (60%)

  • research to maintain scholarly academic status (20%)

  • services to the IB&S group, DMSB and the University (20%)

     

  • services to the IB&S group, DMSB and the University (20%)


Qualifications:

Candidates for Teaching Professor must have a doctorate in International Business, Management, or a closely related field by the appointment start date. Candidates for appointment at the Associate Teaching Professor level must have significant college teaching and/or professional experience. Candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching and research, and fostering an environment of belonging for our student population.

Pay Range:

Assistant Teaching Professor: $125,000.00 - $151,000.00 | Associate Teaching Professor: $129,000.00 - $154,000.00 | Teaching Professor: $148,000.00 - $191,000.00

With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
