About the Opportunity
The Open6G R&D center at the Institute for the Wireless Internet of Things is in search of a Wireless Network Testing and Integration Engineer to drive infrastructure development, management, and the activities of the Open6G Open Testing and Integration Center (OTIC), officially recognized by the O-RAN ALLIANCE. The OTIC is built on testbeds and facilities hosted in the Open6G space of the Institute for the Wireless Internet of Things (WIoT) at Northeastern University. It serves as a hub for the development and testing of next-generation wireless networks utilizing Open RAN technology and Artificial Intelligence, offering a comprehensive range of testing services that facilitates compliance, interoperability, performance, and functional testing for Open RAN products. These services are accessible on state-of-the-art facilities, including RAN and RIC emulators; private 5G RANs with programmable protocol stacks; and Colosseum – the Open RAN Digital Twin and the world's largest wireless network emulator.
We are in search of Wireless Network Testing and Integration Engineer with expertise in 5G and Open RAN. Responsibilities include leading the management and evolution of the OTIC platform and coordinating the integration and testing of commercial cellular equipment. The candidate must have fluency in multiple programming languages such as bash scripting, C++ and Python and comfort to operate within a Linux environment. The candidate must be willing to work in a multidisciplinary environment across domains of RF, computer engineering and networking systems. This position will also participate in external activities, i.e. conducting tutorials, demonstrations, publication of research and attendance/participation in professional conferences, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicant must have at a minimum a BS (preferably MS) in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or equivalent; (3) three years or more of experience with progressively more responsible, independent engineering work. Development Experience with bash scripting, C++ and Python programming languages. Experience with (i) Keysight and Viavi Equipment and Software (ii) Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment frameworks (CI/CD) such as Jenkins and Ansible, and with software-defined radios is a plus.
