Description

We are not here to blend in. We are here to redefine what observability means and how it is delivered.

groundcover is a fast-growing Series B startup delivering the industry’s most modern observability platform for cloud-native environments. Our platform delivers full stack observability with dramatically lower cost, operational overhead, and complexity.

We’re looking for an Office Manager to own our Boston office end-to-end, creating a seamless, welcoming space where our team (~25 employees) can do their best work every day.

What you'll do?

  • Run our Boston office (5 days on-site): Own daily operations, facility management, and vendor relationships to keep the office running flawlessly. Ensure the office is fully functional, well-maintained, and stocked.
  • Drive community & culture: Organize happy hours and team gatherings, making the office a place people genuinely want to be.
  • Partner with HR: Ensure new hires have a fantastic in-office onboarding and support day-to-day employee needs.
  • Manage logistics & data: Coordinate corporate travel bookings and handle office-related invoices. You will use Excel to maintain meticulous data accuracy, ensuring a seamless, organized experience for employees while collaborating closely with our HR and Finance teams.
  • Support US operations: Act as the primary administrative point of contact for office needs across our broader US team.
Requirements

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in office management or workplace coordination (startup experience is a huge plus).
  • Ability to work 100% on-site (5 days/week) in our Boston office (South Station).
  • A positive, flexible and support-driven mindset with a dedication to doing things to the highest standard and always looking for ways to improve processes and office experience.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong operational skills (vendor management, travel coordination, and basic invoice processing).
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills.
  • Advantage: A proven track record in Employee Experience (EX), community building, or workplace culture.

Why join us?

  • High Impact: You won't just run an office; you’ll actively shape the daily life of a rapidly scaling global startup.
  • Empowerment: We empower you to take ownership, bring new ideas to the table, and make this role your own.
  • Dynamic Culture: Join a passionate, and super fun team where your work is deeply valued and no two days are the same!

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
