Title: National Specialty Software Sales

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The Specialty Software Sales Director is a strategic, high-impact individual contributor role responsible for driving sales growth and market penetration for Duck Creek Technologies’ specialty insurance solutions. This role focuses specifically on the sales and strategic positioning of Duck Creek’s Loss Control, Reinsurance, and Distribution Management products. The Specialty Sales Director leverages deep industry knowledge and a consultative sales approach to navigate complex enterprise sales cycles. This role collaborates cross-functionally with product, marketing, and delivery teams to position Duck Creek’s offerings effectively and close new business opportunities within the specialty insurance segment. 

  • Drive new business sales for Duck Creek’s Loss Control, Reinsurance, and Distribution Management solutions across assigned territories or verticals. 

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve or exceed sales targets. 

  • Identify, qualify, and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities through all stages of the sales cycle. 

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on specialty insurance markets and Duck Creek’s value proposition. 

  • Collaborate with marketing to tailor messaging and campaigns for specialty segments. 

  • Partner with product management to provide market feedback and influence roadmap priorities. 

  • Lead RFP responses, solution presentations, and contract negotiations with prospective clients. 

  • Maintain accurate and timely sales forecasts and CRM data. 

  • Represent Duck Creek at industry events, conferences, and client meetings. 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers. 

  • Work closely with implementation and customer success teams to ensure smooth handoffs and client satisfaction. 

  • Engage with integration and solution partners to co-develop go-to-market strategies and drive joint growth initiatives. 

  • Monitor competitive activity and market trends to inform sales strategy and positioning. 

WHAT YOU’VE DONE:

REQUIRED: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Insurance, or a related field. 

  • 6+ years of enterprise software sales experience, with at least 3 years focused on the insurance industry. 

PREFERRED: 

  • Experience selling into Insurance T1 - 5 Carriers, MGAs, Brokers

  • Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and sales enablement platforms. 

  • Familiarity with Duck Creek’s product suite or similar insurance core systems.

  • Deep understanding of specialty insurance market dynamics and buyer personas. 

  • Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles and close high-value deals. 

  • Strong consultative selling and solution positioning skills. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. 

  • High level of business acumen and strategic thinking. 

  • Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and sales enablement platforms. 

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. 

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. 

  • Collaborative mindset with a team-oriented approach. 

  • Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment. 

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and trends. 

  • High integrity and commitment to ethical business practices. 

  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills. 

  • Willingness to travel as needed (up to 50%). 

  • Passion for innovation and continuous learning.

Duck Creek Technologies supports a flexible-first work environment and has employees throughout the United States. Based on a fair and equitable compensation philosophy, we have five (5) United States pay markets based on regional validated survey market data. The expected salary range for this position is between $95,550 and $154,200. This position is also eligible for sales commission. The final compensation may vary due to the above listed factors and be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
